Thank you for joining me today for this short guided scripture meditation.
Today we are going to take this time to listen to a verse of scripture and praise God for his goodness even in the midst of our worries.
So let's start in a nice comfortable position.
You can either sit up nice and tall or you can lay down flat on your back wherever you are most comfortable.
And begin to close your eyes here or you can even soften your gaze.
But wherever you are,
Start by placing your palms face up as a posture of receiving.
And I want you to just take a moment and invite God into this practice with you today.
I want you to begin to bring your awareness to the breath and really notice all the stages of a complete breath from the moment that you inhale to the tiny pause as you transition from your inhale to your exhale.
As you continue that breath,
The scripture for today is from Philippians 4 and it reads,
Rejoice in the Lord always,
Rejoice.
Let your gentleness be evident to all.
The Lord is near.
Do not worry about anything but in everything through prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God.
And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Do not worry about anything but in everything through prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to God.
And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Jesus Christ.
I want you to silently begin to repeat this breath prayer.
So on your inhale,
I want you to repeat silently,
I rejoice in you always.
And on your exhale,
Your peace guards my heart and mind.
I rejoice in you always and your peace surpasses all understanding.
Heavenly Father,
I know that it's impossible to worship and worry at the same time.
I rejoice in your holy name.
Thank you for the promise of your peace when I choose to rejoice in who you are no matter what I face.
I pray that in the midst of my worries that you open my heart and mind and you shift my perspective in a drastic way.
I pray that in the moment that you overwhelm me with gratitude of your blessings that surround me and you remind me not to worry but to pray instead.
I thank you.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
You can begin to bring your awareness back into the room around you and thank you so much for joining me today.
