Hello and welcome to today's meditation,
Which I call today's meditation.
Because to me meditation is about being ready,
About preparing for whatever may come.
You can be ready for anything when you have trained your mind to be in control of what you do with the circumstances that come that enter into your mind.
What you do with the thoughts that enter your mind and the feelings that come after that.
So the question is,
Can we do what it takes to be ready at all times?
And when we're ready I feel that we can appreciate more where we are,
Who we are,
What we have,
The opportunity that we've been gifted,
And everything that's packed and wrapped into this moment that is beautiful and helpful,
Useful.
And to me this is what meditation is about.
Being ready,
Being present,
And being in control.
It's very hard to recognize where the point of control is because it seems so automatic.
That things happen,
Thoughts come,
And feelings and actions are an automatic result of those.
But in truth,
Right after the thought comes,
We are in control.
We choose what to do next.
When a circumstance happens,
We decide at that point what it is that we are going to do with it.
It doesn't feel like a decision all the time,
But if you pay close attention to the smallest moment,
You'll see that you can interrupt that and choose your own path and write your own story for whatever it is that's going on.
Whether it's something that is incredibly difficult to deal with,
But difficult in itself is a story.
A story that changes as time passes.
As things,
As you look back,
Look and feel a lot different than when they originally happened.
So what story will you write in each and every moment?
And how will you make yourself ready?
