Hi,
My name is Keith Parker and I'm co-founder of Field Dynamics Energy Healing and this is a talk on energetic awareness.
So what is energetic awareness anyway?
What is energy?
How do we increase or engage more fully with it?
And why would we want to learn this more?
Let's see if we can tackle some of these questions in this short but very informative talk.
I specialize in energy work and subtle energy and you might be wondering what in the world is energy anyway?
You're used to the physical body and its chemical process but we actually have an energetic field,
Often known as the aura or the biofield.
And science is providing all kinds of interesting insights into the nature of our bioelectric cells and so learning to become energetically sensitive is learning to listen to or respond to this aspect of our nature and the structuring of ourselves.
When we're energetically unaware or disconnected,
We're out of touch with ourselves.
We're not in tune with our inner world of thoughts and feelings.
We're disconnected from our sense of aliveness,
Vitality,
Passion and deepest desires.
Those desires which lead us to our most authentic selves and our most authentic self is the version which leads us to the most fulfilling life.
Energetic awareness is a domain of subtlety.
It requires learning to listen quietly to your internal state,
To your feelings,
To the subtlety of thought,
Even to your intuition.
Keep that in mind that it's something that often requires a bit of work but I'm going to give you four tips,
Four different ways that you can improve towards what's happening in your energy.
Number one,
Nutrition.
What you eat is what your body becomes as it regrows itself and certain kinds of nutrition,
Certain kinds of diets lead towards more energetic awareness.
This is mapped out very well in certain traditions and I'm going to use the Indian sattvic diet as a way of describing it and it's quite short.
The principles in a sattvic diet to become more energetically aware would be three things.
Number one,
Eat things that are more natural,
Not artificial but natural.
Number two,
Eat things that are fresh.
The fresher the better,
The more alive the better.
Number three is eat light,
Meaning generally speaking eat less than more and eat foods that are light in nature.
For instance,
Meat is very heavy.
If you go all the way towards vegetables and fruit,
They're very light in comparison.
That's nutrition.
Number two,
Improve the quality of your environment.
A clean and organized living space,
Sometimes exemplified as well in the organizational patterns of traditions like feng shui where the cleanliness and the organization of your environment,
Your home environment is really important.
See that you have a lot of natural light.
See that you have freshly circulated air on a daily basis and even consider taking up space cleaning practices like smudging with sage or palo santo.
Number three,
Increase body awareness through body scanning practices or meditation and movement.
So body awareness is really important in developing energetic sensitivity and things like body scanning meditations or meditation and movement practices,
Things like tai chi,
Qigong or forms of yoga that are slower that enable you to be connected to what's happening with your body.
Things like restorative yoga and yin yoga are very useful for increasing energetic awareness.
And lastly,
Consider taking up a subtle energy practice like energy healing.
This is what I do all day every day with people and I see how fast and how accelerated people's sensitivity can become when working explicitly with the energy field.
So an energy healing practice will certainly bring about increased sensitivity and a format for you to learn to sharpen your sensing skills regarding energetic awareness.
So hopefully this has been useful and that many of these different tips will contribute to your ability to be more connected to yourself and more energetically aware.
