Letting Go Meditation Take a moment to find a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
Let your hands rest gently in your lap or by your sides.
If it is comfortable and safe for you to do so,
Close your eyes or lower your gaze.
Allow yourself to arrive fully in this moment,
Setting aside any distractions or worries.
This meditation is a space for you to release emotional burdens and step into a lighter,
Freer version of yourself.
There is nothing you need to do except listen and follow the guidance.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs completely and exhale slowly through your mouth,
Releasing any tension.
Begin by bringing your attention to the top of your head.
Notice any sensations or tension there.
As you breathe in,
Imagine your breath gently softening this area.
As you exhale,
Feel any tension melting away.
Now move your focus to your forehead,
Let it soften.
Feel your eyes,
Your cheeks and your jaw.
If you notice any tightness,
Allow it to release with each exhale.
Now bring your awareness to your neck and your shoulders.
These are places where we often carry the weight of stress.
As you breathe in,
Imagine warmth and relaxation flowing into these areas.
And as you exhale,
Let the heaviness release.
Shift your focus to your chest and your heart centre.
Notice any sensations,
Perhaps heaviness,
Tightness or ease.
Allow your breath to expand this space,
Creating openness and lightness.
Now focus on your arms,
Your hands and your fingers.
Imagine them softening and releasing any tension with each breath.
Bring your attention now to your stomach and your lower back area.
And let your breath move into these areas,
Releasing any knots or tightness.
Moving now to your hips,
Thighs,
Knees and all the way down to your feet.
Feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.
Each time you exhale,
Let go of any remaining tension and allow yourself to sink fully into relaxation.
Take one more deep breath in,
Feeling your whole body alive and present.
Now exhale,
Letting it all go.
Now I invite you to imagine yourself standing in a serene and beautiful natural setting.
It could be a forest,
A beach or a mountain meadow,
Wherever you feel most at peace.
The air is fresh,
The surroundings are calm and you feel safe.
In your hand,
You are carrying a small bag.
This bag contains the emotional burdens that you have been carrying.
Your worries,
Your fears,
Your regrets or anything that is weighing you down.
Take a moment to feel its weight.
Acknowledge its presence without judgement.
Now notice a gentle breeze beginning to blow.
This breeze carries with it a sense of lightness,
Freedom and release.
You feel its cool touch on your skin,
Inviting you to let go of what no longer serves you.
With each breath,
Imagine opening the bag and letting the contents be carried away by the wind.
See the burdens transforming into light particles as they are swept up into the sky and dissolving into the vastness beyond.
Feel yourself becoming lighter with each release.
Your shoulders feel freer,
Your heart more open and your mind more at ease.
As you stand there,
Lighter and freer,
A soft golden light begins to surround you.
This light represents your inner strength,
Resilience and self-love.
It flows gently around you,
Filling the spaces where the burdens once resided.
Take a moment to soak in this light,
Letting it nurture and empower you.
Feel it radiating from your heart,
Expanding outwards and connecting you to the limitless potential of the present moment.
When you are ready,
Silently repeat the following affirmations.
I release what no longer serves me.
I am free.
I am light.
I am whole.
I embrace peace and joy within me.
Now take a few deep breaths as you start to bring your awareness back to your body.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes gently,
Feeling the support of the surface still beneath you.
And when you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Carrying this sense of lightness and freedom with you into the rest of your day.
This meditation is a gift that you have given yourself,
A step towards letting go and stepping fully into your power.
