Good evening.
If you're listening to this this evening,
You've probably just retired to bed.
Hopefully you've had a lovely bath or a shower and rinsed and washed the stresses of the day away.
You're ready now to enter that place where the rest recharges your body and your mind and your soul.
Make yourself comfortable.
Make sure that your head is rested nicely on your favourite pillow,
The room is dark,
The cell phone is off and you're comfortable.
We want to take all the stresses of the day and leave them behind and close off the day in a way that will bring us strength to start the day and face the same challenges.
Some you will have resolved,
Others you will carry with you tomorrow.
But with good rest,
You'll have the strength to do and to face what is needed to be done.
So as you drift away to sleep,
I'm going to describe to you this beautiful place that I'm sitting in.
I'm sitting on the side of a mountain in the countryside of Brazil in a province called Minas Gerais.
It is a coffee farm and there are many little ranches that are scattered between the coffee plants.
The day is coming to an end,
The sun is setting,
There is a beautiful chilly breeze blowing over my skin.
As I look to the horizon I see the orange and blue and pale grey lights as the sun makes its journey to give way to light.
And beside a tiny little stream that has endless energy,
The stream is but merely a dug out furrow from the many natural springs that come out of the side of the mountain.
It never stops and it always finds a path.
Next to the stream everything is green,
Long grass,
Tiny little yellow plants,
Brown grass,
Very thick grass,
Some palms,
Some tall trees casting shadow over the side of the mountain,
Some bushes and some shrubs all in every richness and different colour of green.
As the water flows further down we see many coffee plants,
Their branches lying heavy with green beans waiting to ripen for the harvest in good time.
The birds are in the trees,
They are making way for the evening too,
Many beautiful colours,
All of them quite small bustling around in one tree.
As I see some with a blue breast and yellow stripes on their wings,
Others with a golden purple,
Seemingly unbelievably shiny coat,
Large beaks,
Small beaks,
All bustling away getting the last bit of feed and the last bit of straw for their nest.
There are dogs barking in the distance,
Also greeting the sun,
Waiting for their rest.
The cows in the field below have retired,
Two heavy cows,
One brown and black and one black resting.
Everything is quiet,
Excepting the birds,
The sound of running water.
As you fall asleep,
As you're drifting away,
Let your mind be taken with the sound of the water,
Let the sound of the water and the birds move all those concerns to tomorrow and make space and peace in your mind for the rest that your body needs.
Make cognizance of your mind,
Your body and your soul and give thanks for a day when you have managed to do what you have done.
And now rest.
Deep breaths,
Three deep breaths to move yourself into slumber.
Allow your consciousness to flow into the sleep with the sound of the flowing waters and you will rest,
Rest deeply until the new day breaks and you will be rebar-tized.
Let your mind be taken with the sound of the water and the birds move all those concerns to tomorrow and make space and peace in your mind for the rest that your body needs.
Let your mind be taken with the sound of the water and the birds move all those concerns to tomorrow and make space and peace in your mind for the rest that your body needs.
Let your mind be taken with the sound of the water and the birds move all those concerns to tomorrow and make space and peace in your mind for the rest that your body needs.
Let your mind be taken with the sound of the water and the birds move all those concerns
