I use this meditation both with myself and with my clients when I have a decision or I'm looking for insight and I find that I'm spending too much time in rational thought and in my brain and I want to access the wisdom of my heart and my body.
So to use this meditation,
First you need to know what you want to learn from your heart and body.
So pick the topic.
This can be a question.
This could be what is my purpose.
This could be what's important to me right now.
This could be a specific question that you're dealing with.
But take a moment and decide what that question is and get it clear because you're going to ask that question of yourself at several points in the meditation.
Annotation.
Once you have that question,
I invite you to get into a comfortable position.
Whatever works for you.
I like to sit upright in a chair with my feet on the floor.
And my hands on my thighs.
With my spine erect but not rigid and my eyes closed.
To get into that comfortable position.
And take several long,
Slow,
Deep breaths in and out.
And visualize yourself in nature.
You're going to a space that feels nourishing and sacred to you.
This may be a sealed.
This may be a forest.
Could be a stream or a waterfall.
Your mind see yourself walking to this sacred space.
Once you're in this space.
Bring your awareness.
To the center of your forehead.
Just above and between your eyebrows.
The third eye chakra.
And ask your thinking brain the question that you want to pose.
And sit.
And observe.
Whatever happens.
If you need more time.
Pause the meditation.
This is the area where you probably already spent the most energy.
Thinking through.
Different answers to this question.
And bring your awareness and your attention.
Away from your forehead.
Visualize it traveling down.
Through your spine.
And into the center of your chest.
And bring your awareness to your heart.
Feel the awareness.
In your heart.
As you connect with your heart.
Visualize a set of double doors in your chest over top of your heart.
Open that left door wide.
Through this door,
Your heart is giving love to others.
You feel that love flowing out.
Now open that right door wide as well.
Through the right door we receive love.
Visualize all the love slowing in.
And the people in the world are at you.
Now with your awareness in your heart.
Your doors wide open,
Love flowing freely in and out.
Ask this same question of your heart.
And see what arises in response.
Focusing your awareness.
On your heart again.
Thank you in your heart.
For the wisdom it shared.
Now,
Bring that awareness back to the spine.
And let it travel down.
Into your gut.
A spot in your stomach.
Just an inch or two below your belly button.
And as you send to your awareness in your gut.
Feel the energy flowing from your gut through your legs into the earth,
Connecting you and grounding you to Mother Earth.
You have that stability and that strength.
You're resting that awareness in the pit of your stomach.
Ask this question of your gut.
And observe what arises.
Keeping your awareness in your gut.
Thank your gut and your body for the wisdom it has imparted to you on this question.
This point if you want to do more examination.
Feel free to ignore my voice and continue to move your awareness back and forth.
From your gut to your heart.
To your third eye and back as needed.
To unlock whatever wisdom.
Your head,
Heart,
And gut have for you on this issue.
And at some point you may find it helpful.
To let your awareness cover your entire body,
Stretching from that third eye through the heart into the gut.
Seeing collectively what wisdom arises when you connect to all three.
And you have completed your inquiry.
Take one last look at this sacred space in nature.
Earn and follow the path.
Back to your present location.
