Unlike most body-focused meditation techniques for pain relief, I won't tell you to relax your body. Instead, I'll ask you to pay attention to different parts of your body and accept any feelings or sensations that come up. Even if it's uncomfortable, can you try to be okay with feeling uncomfortable? This helps us see that how we think about our feelings and sensations matters more than the feelings themselves. If we keep fighting them, they stick around, but if we learn to let go and accept how we feel, those feelings and sensations can come and go more easily.
