Idé Were Were is a traditional sacred chant from the Yoruba people of West Africa, dedicated to Oshun, goddess of fresh waters, rivers, love, and fertility. The chant speaks of a sacred bracelet, a symbol of initiation into Love and connection with the divine energy of water.

This chant can be sung at any body of water, to give thanks for its purity and its strength, or in daily life, to purify and bless the water you drink. It's a simple gesture of gratitude that carries real weight. I sing it myself near the wells and springs of my village, over my glass of spring water on my altar, or quietly, to the waters within us. I also sing it while preparing my sacred cacao, since cacao itself carries the spirit of water.
