Inviting you to close your eyes or soften your gaze as feels comfortable.
Inviting you to only do that of this practice that feels good and helpful.
And to not do anything that greatly increases discomfort.
It might be that as you spend time with your discomfort,
That it grows for a moment,
Which is a sign that it is shifting.
If this becomes too much or another level of discomfort comes up,
I recommend you stop and try a different practice instead.
Before we begin,
Inviting you to briefly check in with yourself.
On a scale of 1 to 10,
How stressed are you feeling in this moment?
Is that stress helpful right now,
Or would you like it to be different?
If you would,
Or if you're curious,
Inviting you to join me in this tracking practice.
Inviting you to notice your breathing.
No need to change it.
Letting it deepen if it wants to.
Inviting you to scan your body for a place that feels uncomfortable.
It doesn't need to be the most uncomfortable place in your body.
It can just be a little bit of discomfort.
Taking some time for that now,
You might start at your head and move down your body.
Sensing for a place where you're able to be for a while.
When you've found a spot of discomfort,
Inviting you to stay with it.
You might see how close or how far away from it you want to be.
Get comfortable here.
Pull out a lounge chair and hang out with this place.
You might notice its shape and qualities.
How big is that?
Temperature does it have?
Does it have a particular shape?
Is it perhaps tight or squirmy?
Close.
Hard.
Or something else.
Take your time to just be with that.
And if it shifts and changes,
Inviting you to be with that too.
And if at any point this feels overwhelming or not helpful,
Please stop the practice.
You may be with this place for a while longer.
Once you're ready to stop,
Consider thanking it.
And checking back in with that stress scale.
Has your number changed?
How do you know?
Wishing you a connected day.
