Welcome to Ujjayi Breathing.
Its origins are steeped in yoga.
It's also referred to as ocean breathing or Darth Vader breathing.
It has a few different names out there.
I didn't know any of this until recently until I wanted to share it with you.
It's always been a breath that has happened organically to me whenever I do a meditation that puts me in kind of deep sleep.
A deep meditative state or deep transcendental meditative state.
It arouses what I call the ancient being within.
Me and it's like I feel connected to everything,
To all that is.
I feel neutral,
Neither good nor bad.
There's no black or white and my body will often move.
In ways that aren't.
Consciously directed by myself and yes,
I'll breathe like this in a way that I do not consciously direct it just happens It's a beautiful breath.
It's through the nose,
But you feel it in your throat because you keep your mouth closed and the back of the throat is constricted,
Gently constricted,
And it activates the vagus nerve.
Which activates the parasympathetic nervous system,
Which brings peace and relaxation,
And spiritual focus.
I'm going to share with you the way I do it first.
So I breathe in normally through the nose and then generally and then breathe out ocean style.
So you can join me if you like first or just watch and listen.
So breathing in.
It's almost like I'm breathing into my body,
Into myself,
And yet it's nasal breathing,
It's through the nose breathing.
It feels like it's filling up my whole kind of system,
Just moving through all my cells.
It's,
Yeah,
It's a beautiful,
Beautiful experience.
Do you want to try it with me now if you didn't already?
Okay,
Let's go again.
Let's breathe in normally through the nose and out ocean breath.
It may take practice,
So if you are struggling with it,
You can imagine if you're somebody who wears glasses,
Taking off your glasses and going.
Polishing.
It's that kind of but with your mouth closed.
Or if you don't wear glasses like doing a little fog circle on the mirror.
Let's do a love heart.
I always like to in the fall,
Don't you?
So that can kind of help you activate or get in touch with this breathing technique.
So you can also do it breathing in and breathing out.
So ocean breathing in and ocean breathing out.
Let's try it now together if you feel comfy to do so.
And I reckon maybe let's do three together.
You don't have to follow my pace,
Just go along at your own pace.
Ocean breathing,
Ujjayi breathing.
I hope it brings you some peace,
Some relaxation.
And maybe puts you in touch with your wild side.
Like it does me.
Love that you're here.
Bye for now.
