I forget where I read it or who said it, but there was a songwriter that said to write a great song, the advice was simple: tell the truth. This song was my honest and emotionally vulnerable way of processing the end of one relationship while getting clear about what I really wanted. The simplicity of the layers leaves space for the melody and words to shine. Ideal for when you want the coffeehouse-like singer/songwriter acoustic sound.
