Water Over Stones
by In the Flow
This piece features acoustic guitar, a deep melodic bass, atmospheric electric guitar melodies and a water nature track that opens and closes the track. When I write music, the overall emotional tone can surprise me near the end with how it often reveals what's going on with me internally. What started out as a piece that felt lighter ended up sounding more to me like I was processing some sadness and grief with this music. The bass represents the stones - unyielding, strongly opinionated people in your life, and the electric guitar represents the water - doing the inner work to evolve into your true self, which naturally finds us leaving behind these stones. The separation between these two can be confusing and painful at first, but ultimately, peace and beauty can be found in the acceptance of this change. Life gets better with moving forward rather than backward and by being around people who accept you for who you are. I hope you connect with it and enjoy listening.
