Mother Nature
This orchestral music is inspired by the beauty and complexity of nature. To me there is nothing more amazing and breathtaking than nature. It constantly awes me, but in the next minute humbles me. Nature shows us that life is all a balance…the good paired with the bad, life paired with death, and light paired with darkness. The great design of nature is inescapable. It deserves our admiration and our respect. We may be mistaken into thinking we are above it, but we are only a small part of it. This music is the result of my reflection on nature, balance, and our place in it. “Not a fish can leap or an insect fall on the pond but it is thus reported in circling dimples, in lines of beauty, as it were the constant welling up of its fountain, the gentle pulsing of its life…The thrills of joy and thrills of pain are undistinguishable. How peaceful the phenomena of the lake!” — Henry David Thoreau
