The Rosary is made up of twenty "mysteries" (significant events or moments in the life of Jesus and Mary), which, following the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae, are grouped into four series. This is The Third Joyful Mystery - The Nativity. Listen for divine connection to Our Lord and Our Lady. The Mystery is accompanied by sacred harp music. God bless you all, dear friends.

In the name of the Father,

And of the Son,

And of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

I believe in God,

The Father Almighty,

Creator of heaven and earth,

And in Jesus Christ,

His only Son,

Our Lord,

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,

Born of the Virgin Mary,

Suffered under Pontius Pilate,

Was crucified,

Died,

And was buried.

He descended into hell.

On the third day he rose again from the dead.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The Holy Catholic Church,

The communion of saints,

The forgiveness of sins,

The resurrection of the body,

And life everlasting.

Amen.

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Glory be to the Father,

And to the Son,

And to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning,

Is now and ever shall be,

World without end.

Amen.

The Third Joyful Mystery The Nativity The Virgin Mary gives birth to the Redeemer of the world.

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Say to the daughter of Zion,

Look,

Your Saviour comes,

The prize of his victory with him,

His trophies before him.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Caesar Augustus issued a decree for a census of the whole world to be taken,

And everyone went to his own town to be registered.

So Joseph set out from the town of Nazareth in Galilee,

And travelled up to Judea,

To the town of David,

Called Bethlehem,

Since he was of David's house and line,

In order to be registered together with Mary,

His betrothed,

Who was with child.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

While they were there,

The time came for her to have her child,

And she gave birth to a son,

Her firstborn.

She wrapped him in swaddling clothes,

And laid him in a manger,

Because there was no room for them at the inn.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

In the countryside,

Close by,

There were shepherds who lived in the fields,

And took it in turns to watch their flocks during the night.

The angel of the Lord appeared to them,

And the glory of the Lord shone round them.

They were terrified.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

The angel said,

Do not be afraid.

Listen,

I bring you news of great joy,

A joy to be shared by the whole people.

Today in the town of David,

A saviour has been born to you.

He is Christ the Lord,

And here is a sign for you.

You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes,

And lying in a manger.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Suddenly,

With the angel,

There was a great throng of the heavenly host,

Praising God and singing,

Glory to God in the highest heaven,

And peace to men who enjoy his favour.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

When the angels had gone,

The shepherds said to one another,

Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened,

Which the Lord has made known to us.

So they hurried away and found Mary and Joseph and the baby lying in the manger.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

When they saw the child,

They repeated what they had been told about him,

And everyone who heard it was astonished at what the shepherds had to say.

As for Mary,

She treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

And the shepherds went back,

Glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen.

It was exactly as they had been told.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

There is a child born for us,

A son given to us,

And dominion is laid on his shoulders.

Hail Mary,

Full of grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

Pray for us sinners,

Now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Glory be to the Father,

And to the Son,

And to the Holy Spirit.

As it was in the beginning,

Is now and ever shall be,

World without end.

Amen.

O my Jesus,

Forgive us our sins.

Save us from the fires of hell.

Lead all souls into heaven,

Especially those in most need of thy mercy.

Amen.

Hail Holy Queen,

Mother of Mercy,

Hail our life,

Our sweetness and our hope.

To thee do we cry,

Poor banished children of Eve.

To thee do we send up our sighs,

Mourning and weeping in this veil of tears.

Turn then,

Most gracious Advocate,

Thine eyes of mercy towards us.

And after this,

Our exile,

Show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

O clement,

O loving,

O sweet Virgin Mary,

Pray for us,

O Holy Mother of God,

That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

O God,

Whose only begotten Son,

By his life,

Death and resurrection,

Has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life,

Grant we beseech you that meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary,

We may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

In the name of the Father,

And of the Son,

And of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.
