The Rosary is made up of twenty "mysteries" (significant events or moments in the life of Jesus and Mary), which, following the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae, are grouped into four series.

In the name of the Father, And of the Son, And of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I believe in God, The Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, Died, And was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, And is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, The Holy Catholic Church, The communion of saints, The forgiveness of sins, The resurrection of the body, And life everlasting. Amen. Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. Amen. The First Luminous Mystery The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan At the river Jordan, John, The greatest and last of the prophets, Baptises Jesus, The Son of God. Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Look, I am going to send my messenger before you. He will prepare your way. A voice cries in the wilderness, Prepare a way for the Lord, Make his paths straight. Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. John tried to dissuade him. It is I who need baptism from you, He said, And yet you come to me. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, Now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Jesus replied, Leave it like this for the time being. It is fitting that we should, In this way, Do all that righteousness demands. Hail Mary, Full of grace, The Lord is with thee. As soon as Jesus was baptized, He came up from the water, And suddenly the heavens opened, And he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, Now and at the hour of our death. Amen. And a voice spoke from heaven, This is my Son, The Beloved, My favour rests on him. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, Now and at the hour of our death. Amen. John said, I did not know him myself, And yet it was to reveal him to Israel that I came baptizing with water. Hail Mary, Full of grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. I baptize you in water for repentance, But the one who follows me will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. Hail Mary, Full of grace, The Lord is with thee. Of all the children born of women, A greater than John the Baptist has never been seen, Yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he is. Hail Mary, Full of grace, The Lord is with thee. To thee do we send up our sighs, Mourning and weeping in this veil of tears. Turn then, Most gracious Advocate, Thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this, Our exile, Show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary, Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. O God, Whose only begotten Son, By his life, Death and resurrection, Has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, Grant we beseech you that meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, We may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise.
