Autumn Prayers

Two beautiful autumnal prayers coupled with a piece of music I composed in 2020 called The Queen of Autumn (search my free tracks for it). I remember bringing food donations into school for Harvest Festival. It was always exciting, colourful and abundant to see the offerings. It's a preparational time isn't it? Bedding down, getting snug. For soon winter's embrace will be upon us.

We bless you, God of seed and harvest. And we bless each other that the beauty of this world and the love that created it might be expressed through our lives. And be a blessing to others. Now and always. Amen. We see signs of summer's passing in golden leaves, Shortening days, Misty mornings, Autumn glow. We sense its passing in rain that dampens, Winds that chill. Harvest's bounty placed on show. Lord God, Who brings forth both green shoot and hoarfrost, Sunrise and sunset. We bring our thanks for seeds that have grown. Harvests gathered. Storehouses fill. Mouths fed. And as your good earth rests. Through winter's cold embrace. We look forward to its reawakening when kissed by spring's first touch. Amen.
