Good morning.
Thank you for joining me for today's quick morning meditation.
Today's topic is on success,
Visualizing your success.
Success means many different things to many different people.
So we'll take some time today to explore what it means to you.
So when you're ready,
Find yourself seated in a chair,
Spine upright,
Feet flat on the floor,
Palms are at your side or at your lap,
Feeling comfortable.
As always,
You can complete this exercise lying down or even while you're making coffee or tea,
Whatever a morning ritual is that is dear to your heart.
So wherever this meditation finds you,
Let's settle in.
If you can close your eyes,
Take a few deep breaths,
Allowing any tension to roll down the back of the spine,
Off the shoulders,
Down the arms.
If you're clenching your belly,
Allow those muscles to release so that your hips and your legs are settled and at peace.
Continuing to take deep,
Full breaths,
Allowing the exhale to be slightly longer than the inhale.
And as always,
Remembering that if your mind wanders,
Please allow kindness and non-judgment to gently pull yourself back to the present moment.
Breathing,
Settling.
And noticing if any area in your body is stiff.
And just allowing that area to soften.
Breathing naturally now and think about the word success.
What does this word mean to you?
For some of us,
It's to have a family,
To get a good job,
To make money,
To give back to others.
There's no right or wrong.
Just visualize and think about what success means to you.
If you're having a hard time thinking about what success means to you,
Bring some awareness to your heart.
What is your heart telling you?
What is your deepest want,
Desire?
Listen closely.
This is a practice.
So the more you practice,
The more you will find your true desires.
What does success mean to you?
Another way to think of it is who do you think is successful?
Visualize that person.
Who do you look up to?
What are some of their characteristics that you would like to cultivate?
If any area in your body has tensed or tightened,
Take a moment to breathe and soften and settle.
Understanding a person you think is successful.
What are some of their characteristics?
How do they present themselves to the world?
Now visualize yourself with those characteristics.
Visualize yourself successful with the family,
With the new promotion,
Giving back to the world,
Helping animals or the planet,
Feeling content in the present moment.
What does success look like for you?
In coming back to the heart area,
What is one thing that you can do today,
Tomorrow,
To start to put your success in action?
A plan of attack.
For some of us,
It may just be writing it down.
Could be sending an email.
Could be committing to a meditative practice once a day to explore this idea.
Whatever it is,
I encourage you to commit to one small thing.
Let's end our time together with three deep breaths,
Exhaling all our breath out,
Inhaling deeply and exhaling completely.
Allow your body to soften and settle.
Two more breaths,
Inhale and exhale.
One more time,
Inhale deeply and let it go.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes.
Take a moment to think about what one thing you're going to do.
Commit to doing that.
