Welcome to today's morning meditation,
Creating a worthwhile day.
Wherever this meditation finds you,
Allow yourself to show up and be present and relax a little in your spot.
If you're lying down,
Enjoy the few moments left before you get up for your day.
If you're sitting,
Have your feet flat on the floor,
Hands are at your side,
Your spine is upright but not rigid,
Allowing for the gentle curves.
Close your eyes for a moment.
Notice your breath.
Say hello to a dear old friend,
Your one true companion with you every moment of every day.
So exhaling all your breath out,
Inhale deeply through the nose,
Sipping in the air,
Feeling the cool air going in through the nose,
Down through the back of the throat,
Into your lungs.
And then exhale deeply and completely,
Feeling energized as you're letting the air out,
Knowing that it's all the things you don't need.
Each inhale,
You're bringing in everything you need to create a worthwhile day,
A positive day.
And as you exhale,
You're letting go and you're letting things leave the body that no longer serve you.
Take a few more deep cleansing breaths,
Feeling your muscles soften and relax,
Getting ready for a wonderful positive day,
Noticing if there's any tension around the eyes or the jaw.
Letting your belly hang loose,
Your hands are in easy position and your feet and toes are unclenched,
Breathing,
Settling,
Relaxing.
How do we create a worthwhile day?
One step is being aware of negative self-talk.
We all have that in our mind,
That voice that tells us we can't do something right.
It's not for us.
Try again.
You'll never be good enough.
That is all a safety mechanism for the survival of our species,
But being conscious creatures,
We don't have to identify with it.
We can notice the self-talk and we can reframe it and rephrase it.
Allow kindness to wash over you.
For today,
I encourage you to just see if you can notice when the negative self-talk arises.
For most of us,
It goes on and on and on and we never notice it.
It just becomes a dialogue and then we believe it and what we believe turns into reality.
I encourage you today to be aware,
Noticing the self-talk that does not produce the day you want.
It is not productive.
Seeing it and being kind to yourself,
Taking a pause and then saying something positive.
I can do this today.
I will create the life I want to lead.
I will eat healthy today.
I may not have eaten healthy this morning,
But I have the whole afternoon to eat clean.
Phrases like that.
Allow yourself to begin where you are.
Each day offers us millions of opportunities to start fresh and anew.
The day is not ruined because of one action or one thought.
Become aware of your negative self-talk.
Take a pause and then rephrase it.
I know I didn't get my exercise in this morning,
But I will take a five-minute walk after work.
You have the power to create the day and the life you want to live.
If your mind has wandered,
Be kind.
Come back to the breath.
Allow your body to soften and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
See the day with a freshness,
A newness.
Commit to being aware of negative self-talk,
Allowing yourself not to identify,
Not to believe in the negative self-talk,
And to take an actionable step later on in the day to change it around.
The power is yours.
Embrace yourself with kindness.
Thank you so much for allowing me the precious gift of your time.
Until next time.
