Hello,
I'm Helen.
Welcome.
This is a space to pause,
Reconnect with yourself and listen to what you might need today.
Find a position that feels comfortable for you and we'll begin.
Today's meditation is an invitation to reconnect with your own voice.
Imagine what you might want more of and identify one small step that feels like your own.
You might be sitting,
Lying down,
Or somewhere you can simply pause for a little while.
You can close your eyes if that feels comfortable or keep them open with your gaze resting softly on something nearby.
And remember that you can move or adjust your position at any time.
Again,
By noticing what is supporting you.
The chair beneath you.
The surface you are resting on.
Perhaps the contact of your feet with the floor.
Allow your breathing to follow its own natural rhythm.
There is nothing you need to change.
Nothing you need to solve in this moment.
For these next few minutes.
Give yourself permission to arrive exactly as you are.
You may feel hopeful.
You may feel uncertain.
You may not know what you feel.
And there is room for all of that here.
Now imagine.
If it feels helpful.
A book.
Resting in front of you.
You don't need to see it clearly.
You can simply hold the idea of it in your mind.
This book contains the story of your life so far.
Pages filled with ordinary days.
Moments of connection.
Things you choose.
And things you would never have chosen for yourself.
There may be chapters you cherish.
There may be chapters you are relieved to have survived.
You don't need to revisit any of them now.
Simply acknowledge that you have lived them.
And here you are.
Somewhere along the way.
Other people's expectations may have found their way into your story.
Ideas about who you should be.
What success should look like.
What you ought to want.
How quickly you should arrive.
Or which direction your life should take.
Perhaps some of those ideas still feel right for you.
And perhaps others have begun to feel less like your own.
Without searching for a difficult memory.
Gently ask yourself.
Is there an expectation I'm ready to hold a little more loosely?
There is no need to force an answer.
You might notice a word.
Of feeling.
An image.
Or simply a quiet sense of recognition.
And if nothing comes,
That is okay too.
You can leave the question open.
Now imagine.
Turning towards a fresh page.
It doesn't need to be a completely new chapter.
It can simply be a little space.
A few blank lines.
Enough room for something that matters to you.
You don't even have to decide what your whole future will look like today.
For now,
Gently ask yourself.
What would I welcome a little bit more of in my life?
Perhaps it is rest.
Play.
Connection.
Creativity.
Movement.
Adventure.
A sense of purpose.
Or the freedom to do something in your own way.
Take a little time to notice what feels meaningful to you.
It doesn't need to impress anybody else.
If an answer begins to form.
Allow it to be there without immediately turning it into a plan.
Just notice it.
What might a little more of that look like in an ordinary day?
Perhaps a moment.
A conversation.
A boundary.
A small change in how you use your time.
You cannot choose everything that happens in your story.
Other people,
Circumstances and responsibilities are part of it too.
But within the space available to you there may be one small choice that belongs to you.
So gently ask yourself.
What is one kind manageable step?
I could take It might be making time for something you enjoy.
Asking for support.
Saying no to something that doesn't feel right.
Giving yourself time before answering.
Or writing down an idea.
Or allowing yourself to rest before even deciding what comes next.
Let your step be small enough for the life you are living now.
And if nothing comes to you today,
You can return to this question.
Another time.
There is no deadline.
Your own voice may be quiet.
It may have spent a long time competing with other people's expectations.
You can give it time.
You can listen without demanding certainty.
You can try something.
Learn from it and choose again.
You don't have to know how the whole story unfolds to choose what you want to bring to the next page.
Begin to notice the room around you again.
Notice any sounds nearby.
The temperature of the air against your skin.
The support beneath your body.
Perhaps you want to gently move your fingers.
Your toes.
Or roll your shoulders.
Instinctively do whatever feels right for you.
If your eyes have been closed.
Allow them to open.
Whenever you feel ready.
Take your time.
And carry with you whatever felt useful today.
A word.
An image.
A possibility.
Or one small next step.
Thank you for sharing this time with me.
Until next time.
