Welcome to this short 3-day course on meditation practices anyone can utilize when feeling stressed or overwhelmed. Let’s face it, this happens to all of us from time to time. Similarly, these are stressful times for many of us. Learning ways to deal effectively with that stress can be beneficial for our overall health and our relationships. Over the next 3 days, we will learn 5 different techniques to employ when we are feeling stressed or anxious. These techniques can be done anywhere at any time. Join me and begin the process of taking control of anxious thoughts. Important: these techniques are not intended as a substitute for medically recommended practices to deal with medically diagnosed conditions.


Meet your Teacher

Hearon is an RYT-200 certified yoga instructor and yoga studio owner who also has a 300-hour certification to teach meditation. Hearon's goal with yoga and meditation is to help students "reduce the modifications of the mindstuff," as articulated in yogasutra 1.2. He is passionate about bringing yoga and meditation to those who may not otherwise experience those practices.

Lesson 1

Breathing And Present Moment Awareness

Today, we will learn two basic breathing exercises which can be employed at any time to calm us down and regulate our nervous system. We will also learn a present moment technique. The present moment is literally all that we have; we cannot change the past and we cannot predict the future, and frequently our stress derives from lament over the past or that worry about the uncertainty of the future.

Lesson 2

Present Moment Awareness And Loving Kindness

Another form of present moment awareness mediation is that of focusing on the senses. We will learn a technique for that as well as learn a shorter method for performing a body scan. We will close today's lesson with an extensive loving kindness meditation.

Lesson 3

Summary And Review

Today we will summarize each of the techniques we learned as well as practice them again. We will also discuss practical applications for each of the techniques such that we can practice them "in the moment" during real life situations.
