It's my absolute honor to guide you through this meditation today.
Find a comfortable seat and a comfortable position,
And as usual,
Let's start with our breath.
Inhale through the nose and a longer exhale through your mouth.
A quick inhale through the nose and exhale through your mouth.
Inhale through the nose and just feel how all the stress of your day leaves your body as you exhale through your mouth.
Easter can be a really tricky time for a lot of people.
It can be so stressful and sometimes you may feel like the year has scrolled by so quickly and that you are not quite ready for Easter yet.
Maybe you feel overwhelmed by the commercial activities of this time of the year.
And as you're focusing on your breaths,
Allow me to take you back to the real beginning of the Easter story.
To the very beginning,
Where we hear the words,
God created the heavens and the earth.
The Spirit of God hovered over the waters.
The Spirit of God breathed on the chaotic scene that was in front of Him before the world was even found.
He breathed light and life into the waters and created the world.
And He used that same breath to breathe life into the first humans on this planet.
So as we're inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth,
I want you to imagine and to see in your mind's eye yourself as one of those humans.
I want you to notice that God Himself had to place His lips on top of yours to breathe life into you.
And as I call your spirit to the front through the blood of the Lamb,
I want to bless your spirit to fully see and experience that close connection when you first received your breath from God Himself,
When He breathed life into you.
I want to bless your spirit with the full knowledge of life and life in abundance.
And this Easter,
I pray that you'll get a fresh revelation of what that life is and what it looks like.
Because as we look back and we see the chaos of a world not yet formed,
Somewhere even before that,
It says that the Lamb was already slain before the foundation of the world.
This reminds me of a quote by Beth Velker-Jones.
She writes,
God freely created out of an overflow of His love.
So as you bring your focus to your breath,
Feel the love of God flow over you as His spirit breathes over you.
Soak up His love with every breath you take.
And it is the same Lamb that was slain that God says,
This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.
And the best part of the Easter story is that because of the work that Jesus did on the cross,
We now have that close connection restored again.
That close connection that we had with God is fully restored because of the resurrection.
And now with the life of Christ flowing through you,
Bringing all your brokenness and shortcomings to the foot of the cross,
Turning away from our own selfish ways and committing to walk in His path of life,
God looks at you and says,
You are my beloved Son and daughter in whom I am well pleased.
So take a moment to just relish in this stillness and experience the love of God touching your heart,
Touching your body,
Soul and spirit,
Your entire being,
Inviting you back into that close connection and knowing that He says,
I will never leave you nor forsake you.
I conclude today's practice with the words from Matthew 12 verse 20 and it says,
A bruised reed he will not break and smoking flax he will not quench till he sends forth justice to victory and in his name Gentiles will trust.
So in this close connection that we have experienced today,
I want you to lean back,
To lie back in the folds of the hands of God,
To know that He has your back,
That you can put your trust in Him because He loves you and He proved that by laying down His life so that you can have a life of abundance.
Thank you for joining me in today's practice.
When you're ready,
Please feel free to open your eyes as I close in prayer.
Father we thank you for your love,
Lord Jesus we thank you for your life and we thank you that you say that you will never leave us nor forsake us.
Thank you Holy Spirit for continually drawing us ever closer to you and that you say the good work that you have started in us you will complete.
So may the Lord bless you and keep you and may He make His face shine upon you and fill you with His peace throughout each day of the year.
