Welcome to Echoes of Serenity.
You're about to listen to a sleep story for adults.
It is meant to help you relax.
So that you can fall asleep more easily.
Make sure you listen to this story,
With soft music and ambient sounds,
In a safe and quiet environment.
I wish you pleasant,
Magical dreams.
In this story.
You are the caretaker of mythical creatures.
Connected to the Emberful Academy.
It is the end of the day.
And you are feeding the animals.
And ensuring they are safe in their stables for the coming night.
Then a fairy visits and asks if you could help a unicorn in the forest.
Of course,
You are glad to help.
And together with the fairy.
You quickly make your way to an unexplored part of the woods.
And remember.
.
.
If you enjoy this journey into the world of Emberful,
Feel free to listen to one of my other stories,
That take place in and around Amberfall Academy.
Such as the magical spa,
And the forest herbalist.
For now.
Let us immerse ourselves in this new tale.
You stretch your arms and gently pat your horse on the neck.
It is a crisp spring afternoon and the air is filled with the scent of grass and blossoms.
In the distance,
You can hear the soft,
Faint sounds of the village of Emberville behind you.
The day is drawing to a close.
But your work is not yet finished.
You are the caretaker of mythical creatures.
The stables.
Pastures and the sanctuary known as safe haven.
Are located close to the Amberfull Academy.
You are not only a teacher at the Academy,
But you spent most of your time.
Tending to the animals.
It is a very special role.
Because it is vital that vulnerable creatures are sheltered and cared for.
While the students also learn about the origin and nature of these beings.
It is now time to replenish the supplies at the animal shop in the village.
The stacks of feed,
Hay and straw are loaded into the cart and smoothly you step up onto the driver's seat.
Come on,
Nora,
You softly tell your horse.
The animal stirs,
And at a peaceful pace you drive back towards the pastures near the castle.
Along the way you let your eyes wander over the trees with their fresh green leaves.
The blooming hyacinths and daffodils,
And the birds busily building their nests.
Nature is giving all the space it needs here.
And that brings a sense of peace.
In everything the mages and witches do.
They ensure it does not harm the natural world.
It is so different from the outside world,
Where the Leeuwens live.
This is an old medieval word.
For the people who live,
So to speak.
In the Lea of Magic.
And do not possess magical abilities.
You have never come into contact with these non-magical people yourself.
And you do not really feel the need to.
The stories you hear about them are usually not very positive.
You choose not to dwell on those thoughts and turn your gaze back to the rich greenery of the amberful forest.
And the multicolored flowers along the wayside.
The soothing creaking of the wagon.
Helps you unwind.
And you enjoy the ride back to the castle.
A little while later,
The animal pastures come into view.
There is a building with stables of various sizes to accommodate the different creatures.
There is also a dedicated space,
Where sick animals can be treated.
And just a bit further ahead.
You see your own cozy cottage,
Overlooking the fields,
The farmlands and the vast woodlands.
Your black and white dog,
Panda,
Already comes happily running towards you.
Joining the cart as you approach the sanctuary.
You open the gate and guide your horse and wagon inside.
Sekio,
The unicorn,
Is already approaching.
Watching you with curiosity.
No nibbling on the hay just yet,
All right?
You say as a warning,
But with a warm smile on your face.
Near this table you begin to unload the supplies.
It is hard work,
But you do it with love.
There is nothing more beautiful than caring for these extraordinary animals.
Once everything is neatly in place.
You walk out into the pasture.
Sekio comes over to stand beside you.
Gently resting his muzzle on your shoulder.
Sekio loves being close to you,
But has no need to be petted.
So you just stand there quietly,
Enjoying his presence.
Out of the corner of your eye you can see his twisted,
Gleaming horn and his soft,
Light grey nose.
The pastures are covered with grass,
Wildflowers and occasional shrubs and trees.
Providing the animals with shelter.
They are all wondrous creatures,
In need of extra care.
Sometimes they were found by colleagues.
Who happened to come across an injured animal.
And brought it to you.
Other times,
The animals from the Amberfall Forest find their way to you all on their own.
Underneath a tree stands a jale.
A beautiful and rare mystical creature from India.
She is as large as a horse.
But she has horns that,
When the animal is at rest,
Lie in elegant spirals upon her back.
When she feels threatened.
They unfold,
Allowing the Jale to move them in any direction to defend herself.
The creature has not been here for very long.
And is still getting used to your presence.
You spent a little time with her every day.
Without getting too close.
You have already treated her though,
As she had several injuries on her legs.
Now the Jale grazes peacefully beneath the tree,
Looking quite content.
A tiny mistmarten frolics through the long grass,
Right past an impressive griffon,
A lion with wings.
And then quickly runs towards you.
You crouch down and open your arms.
The endearing creature leaps into your lap.
And swiftly climbs up to your shoulder.
Where it purges,
As you stand back up.
All good,
Elix!
The Martin purrs softly and contentedly.
Elix has been here for a few months now.
And could have returned to the forest long ago.
You told her that,
Duke.
But she seems to have no desire to leave just yet.
The Martin,
Who can transform into a little cloud of mist whenever danger threatens.
Seems to enjoy the company of the other animals here.
And they seemed to appreciate her presence as well.
It matters little to you.
Elex loves attention.
And you quite enjoy her nice cuddles.
Besides the creatures mentioned before.
Many more animals forage,
Crawl or fly around here.
Such as a thunderbird.
A dragon hound.
Barrington.
Which is a deer with wings.
And even a rare good luck beetle.
Whether they are rare or not.
You care for each and every one of them.
With the same amount of love and dedication.
Evening falls and the sun is already beginning to sink behind the emberful castle.
It is time to bring the animals inside.
At least,
Those who wish to be.
You check outside one last time,
To make sure all is well.
And that no one requires extra care.
The light fades quickly and you light a few lanterns.
In the warm glow of the stables.
You'll pause for a moment with each animal to give them a little attention.
By the phoenix has found a spot in the nesting area.
Where nests of various sizes rest on shelves.
The beautiful creature with his red shimmering feathers and long tail.
Lies quietly in his nest.
You check his wings,
As he came to you two weeks ago with a wound on one of them.
It has healed well.
But the wing is still a bit stiff.
Which prevents Pi from flying just yet.
He calmly submits to your gentle care.
Everything seems to be healing well,
Pi.
In a few days,
I think you will be ready to leave.
The phoenix looks deep into your eyes.
The gaze of a phoenix is intense and can be confronting for some.
The creature is the embodiment of transformation and change.
Many people suppress their feelings.
They prefer to stick to what is familiar and choose the easiest path.
When you look a phoenix in the eyes.
The creature shows you where you are stuck and forces you to face it.
But you look back now,
Without fear and smile.
Pai bows his head in gratitude.
You stay with him a little longer.
Stroking the soft feathers on his neck and back.
He has food by his nest and is ready for the night.
You walk past the Thunderbird,
Who has already fallen asleep.
And return to the area where the non-winged animals reside.
You look around for a moment.
And hear how all the residents of your safe haven are beginning to settle down.
You'll hear some snorting and rustling.
The sound of digging in the straw.
As all the animals look for a comfortable spot to lie down for the night.
Elix,
The Missed Martin,
Has also found a soft corner in the stable by now.
Curling up to go to sleep.
The lanterns cast a warm,
Soft light onto the floor.
You will extinguish almost all of them shortly.
So the animals can enjoy the dark night.
First,
It is time to visit a very special guest.
You move quietly toward a small stable.
And when you open the door.
You can't see the creature at first.
But he sees you and begins to stretch.
Then you notice the iridescent colors of his coat.
You light a small lantern to see the animal better.
This is the Dreamweaver.
Here is the size of a bed shirt.
But that is where the comparison ends.
His coat.
Though it's not really a true code.
Consists of soft,
Silky threads and fluffs,
That are always in motion,
As if a gentle breeze is blowing through them.
The coat does not really have a fixed color.
But shimmers like a soap bubble with pastel hues.
The dream weaver looks at you with his large,
Dark blue eyes and tilts his head.
Curious to see what you will do?
The creature lives high on the rugged mountain slopes.
It's a very inhospitable place,
But he requires very little sustenance.
This dream weaver shared his name with you,
Oridian.
Unfortunately,
Oridian had run into trouble when he descended the slopes of the High Alps,
And wandered too close to a small village.
Children had spotted the strange creature and began to follow him.
Oridian panicked,
Slipped on the rocks and fell into a gorge.
He was safe from the children there.
But he could no longer climb out of the crevice.
He grew weaker and weaker,
Until fortunately.
.
.
He was found by an explorer.
Who levitated him out of the fissure.
And brought him to your safe haven.
What Aurelian needed most was rest and nourishment to regain his strength.
You could see that just after a few days,
He was already beginning to recover.
But his coat was still a bit dull.
And he hadn't managed to weave any dreams yet.
As a caretaker of extraordinary creatures.
You had heard of dream weavers before.
But you had never actually seen one.
You had to consult your books to learn more about these beings.
They are incredibly fascinating.
From the highest peaks of the mountains.
They can sense what is passing through the minds of people.
When night falls,
They weave dreams out of an ethereal energy.
Every now and then.
You can already see this energy glowing around Aurelien's pores,
Like precious,
Shimmering threads.
Moving their tiny hands with their sensitive fingers.
The weavers shape the most beautiful,
Inspiring dreams for mankind.
They also help transform difficult,
Frightening experiences.
Into dream symbols.
Guiding you through the dream,
So it does not turn into a nightmare.
With their help,
You can wake up in the morning feeling lighter and more at peace.
Even though there are only a few dream weavers in the world.
Their task is vital.
You sincerely hope that Aurelien will recover quickly.
You sit down beside him on the ground.
Which is covered with a thick layer of straw.
Ori scrambles up and approaches you cautiously.
He places a slender pole.
With these long and somewhat human-like fingers upon your legs.
You smile and gently extend your hand so he can sniff it.
You notice Ori's coat changing color just a bit faster.
Glowing a little more brightly.
He crawls into your lap.
And looks at you with his dark blue eyes.
A sense of deep contentment and serenity washes over you.
For a moment you close your eyes to savor this stillness.
But suddenly the peaceful moment is disrupted by the fluttering of wings.
Who could still be active this late in the evening.
It turns out not to be one of your guests,
However.
A tiny fairy comes flying into the stable.
She looks anxious and you know instantly that your help is needed.
Greetings.
My name is Niola,
The fairy says.
I'm sorry to disturb you during your duties,
Caretaker.
But there is a situation that requires your assistance.
She is no larger than your hand and wears a light blue dress.
Her wings glow softly in the dim light of the stable.
No problem at all,
Neola.
Tell me,
What's wrong?
Ori looks up at the fairy,
Seemingly already aware that something is amiss.
He gets up,
And after a gentle cuddle from you,
He settles back down onto his soft bed of straw.
Far from here,
In the amberful forest,
A unicorn has given birth to a foal,
The fairy explains.
The young one is doing well,
But the mother is exhausted.
And they are very close to the border of the Leeuwin lands.
It's not safe there.
They could easily be discovered.
We hope that you can help!
There are realms of magic and realms without magic.
And for centuries.
These worlds have been kept strictly apart.
Long ago.
Powerful mages.
Ensured that the lands around Emberfall Castle became hidden within a fold of the ordinary world.
Normally,
The Liyueans cannot easily find this world.
But to be safe.
Magical protective spells,
Have also been placed along the border.
Yet every now and then,
Exceptionally stubborn people or those who possess a tiny flicker of magic themselves,
Manage to cross the boundary.
The risk is small.
But with a unicorn mother.
And her foal resting right beside the border.
That risk can't be ignored.
As the caretaker of mythical creatures.
Almost every animal and magical being knows you.
You are renowned for your empathetic nature.
And your powerful magic that helps protect every living soul.
Of course you will help.
You securely lock the Dreamweaver stable.
Double check that all the animals in the barns and pastures are safe and sound.
Then you pack your bag with medical and magical supplies.
Using the communication mirror.
You contact a senior student from Amberfall.
Leon He has a great talent for the craft and frequently assists you.
Leon.
I have to leave suddenly to help a unicorn in the forest.
Could you come over as soon as possible,
To look after the animals?
They've all been tended to,
And everything is fine.
But I would feel better,
Knowing someone is here keeping an eye on things while I'm away.
Leon is eager to help and says he will head over to your cottage immediately.
You gather the last of your things and a lantern.
As darkness is beginning to fall.
And wait with Neola until the yon arrives.
You give your dog Panda a warm hug and then you pick up your broom.
In truth.
It isn't really an old-fashioned broom anymore.
Because no one likes sitting on such a hard and awkward broomstick.
This is a much more evolved version.
The younger generation calls it the Hover Sled.
It's an ergonomically shaped board,
Made of olive wood.
It's modern,
Comfortable and a pleasure to travel on.
The wood is crafted into a smooth flowing curve,
Where the lowest point rests on the ground and both the front and back curve upward,
Much like a sleigh.
The rear curve offers a place to sit and you have even mounted a soft cushion onto it.
At the front the wood curves upward,
Like the proud bow of a ship.
Steering is done with two supple reins of braided horsehair,
Which are connected directly to the magical core in the bow.
With the range you can gently guide it right,
Left,
Up or down.
But the sled responds above all to intention and magic.
You step onto it and secure your bag at your feet.
Let's go,
You softly say to the fairy.
You let your magic flow through your hands.
From where it effortlessly reaches the sled through the reins.
The hovered sled rises gently into the air and you set course toward the amberful forest.
Seated upon the comfortable hoversled.
You watch the densely leafed treetops rush by beneath you.
You feel safe on the sled,
Which has always carried you faithfully through the skies.
It's beautiful to see the endless sea of trees.
The broad crowns of forest giants,
A shimmering river winding its way between the greenery.
And further away the high peaks of the Darakona mountains.
You'll follow Neola.
Who knows exactly where the unicorn is located.
She had mentioned it was quite a distance away.
So you prepare yourself for a long journey.
The wind rustles in your ears.
But fortunately,
The weather is dry and the breeze is gentle.
Sometime later,
Neola indicates that you should look for a place to land.
She points downward and you begin a calm descent with the hoversled.
The lush treetops approach.
You need some space to maneuver your magical sled through the branches,
But you can already spot the unicorn.
She is lying in a spacious clearing.
Where fortunately your hoversled can just manage to touch down.
You wonder why the unicorn mother chose this particular spot.
As these creatures are usually very shy and stay far away from inhabited areas.
From here.
It's only a few hundred meters to the border,
With the world of the Leeuwins.
Skillfully you guide the hoversled further down,
Until it meets the ground with a soft bump.
You release the reins and pick up your bag.
It's getting quite dark by now.
But you can still see the beautiful unicorn,
Lying on the grass beside a narrow stream.
It's a breathtaking spot and you instantly understand why the unicorn chose to have her foal here.
The clearing feels absolutely magical.
There certainly is a nourishing and peaceful atmosphere.
With your practiced eye,
You'll quickly notice that the little foal looks healthy and strong.
You take your lantern and activate the light magic.
Cautiously and quietly.
You take a few steps forward.
To see how the mother responds.
She looks at you with a wise and gentle gaze.
I told her you were coming,
Niola says.
Flying ahead of you to hover near the unicorn.
She is perfectly fine with you checking on her and the foal.
I'm glad to hear that,
You say with a smile.
As you draw closer,
You notice that other magical creatures have already gathered.
Wishing to be present for this special occasion.
There are fairies.
Gnomes.
Dryads and water nymphs.
They all watch attentively.
Filled with concern.
For the unicorn and her little one.
When you reach the unicorn mother.
You set the lantern on the ground and crouch down.
She moves her head towards you.
Carefully.
Ensuring her horn doesn't touch you.
She takes a deep breath.
And you extend your hands,
So she can take in your scent and energy.
Apparently you are approved,
As she bows her head slightly.
Are you feeling well,
Mother Unicorn?
Shall I take a quick look to see if everything is alright?
And with your little one too?
She bows her head once more and you take your time to gently examine both her and the newborn foal.
Being allowed to touch the tiny foal is a truly extraordinary experience.
You haven't had the chance to care for many unicorns yet.
And you have never even seen a foal before.
The little creature is a radiant white with a silky soft coat.
Its eyes are still a dark blue.
Almost black.
Which will later turn into a light blue.
The foal doesn't have a horn yet,
Like its mother.
That only forms later,
When the animal is about two years old.
Right now,
There's only a tiny glowing point of magical light on its forehead.
You listen to the false heartbeat.
Feel its slender legs.
And check its eyes,
Nose,
Ears and mouth.
Everything is perfectly fine.
The small animal is completely healthy and you let the mother know.
She lets out a relieved sigh.
You did choose a risky location to give birth,
You explain gently.
I understand that from an energetic perspective.
This is a wonderful place.
I can feel it too.
But you are very close to the border with the world of the Leeuwins here.
You really ought to move.
But then again,
You can't,
You shy.
The birth went well,
But the mother is too tired.
And the fold too small.
To be moved just yet.
They will have to stay here for at least another night and day.
You look around you.
It's worrying.
There aren't many Leeuwins who can break through the magical barrier.
But it can happen.
And if they were to suddenly stand face to face with a unicorn?
You don't even want to think about what might happen then.
I think you should check the barrier and strengthen it if necessary,
Niola suggests.
Yes,
You are right.
You agree with her.
You walk to the center of the clearing and close your eyes.
You take your time to focus.
You sense the magical currents around you.
Which are quite potent in this place.
And extend your hands.
In the distance,
You can feel how the protective magical field ensures that the unique world around Amberfall Castle remains hidden within a fold of the world.
This magical barrier is strong on its own.
But a few meters away.
Extra magical spells are active.
Functioning like solid pillars of powerful energy,
Supporting the barrier.
You notice that some of these have weakened slightly.
And you immediately set to work to reinforce them.
You speak the incantations,
Letting the magic flow through you and toward the barrier.
From your wand,
Beautiful colors and bright sparks.
Drift through the forest to wherever the magic is needed.
The spells receive an extra boost.
Becoming more powerful.
And the entire network of energy functions optimally once again.
It takes quite some time,
And the concentration it requires leaves you weary.
But it is a rewarding task.
When you are finished,
All the fairies,
Dryads and gnomes applaud.
And the unicorn bows her head in gratitude.
You feel that the mother wants you to come and sit with her for a moment.
You walk over to the unicorns and sit cross-legged in the grass.
You take a moment to enjoy this peaceful stillness.
The little foal has fallen asleep by now,
Curled up against his mother.
You do feel tired and sleepy.
Who have been working with the animals in the safe haven all day long.
And now you have been busy until late into the night.
It's time to get some rest yourself.
But you don't really feel like flying all the way back home on the hover sled.
The peaceful atmosphere,
The rich scents of the trees and plants around you,
And the calm breathing of the unicorn make you drowsy.
You gently stroke the unicorn mother's nose and stand up.
A little further along,
Beside the babbling brook,
Is a small clearing between some rocks.
You notice that the grass there is thick and lush.
There's also some bushy ferns and soft moss that are growing there.
This seems like an ideal place to sleep.
You take one more fond look at the sleeping unicorn foal.
And then head to the spot between the rocks.
You will be comfortably out of the wind there.
And able to sleep in this sheltered place.
As you lie down,
You notice that the grass and ferns form a thick mattress.
You position yourself so you can still see the clearing and the two unicorns.
You yawn and stretch.
You drape your coat over yourself.
And it is long enough to cover you completely.
Just as you were about to close your eyes,
You suddenly see a bright shimmer appear in the clearing.
Sparks of white,
Pink and purple light.
Illuminate the grass and the flowers.
You watch in surprise,
And then.
.
.
All of a sudden.
The dream weaver appears.
The strange creature sits down comfortably.
The tips of his thread-like coat glow softly with wondrous,
Gentle shades of blue,
Purple,
Red and lavender.
You had no idea that dream weavers could just appear at random like this.
But perhaps.
He felt his help was needed here,
You think to yourself.
The dream weaver begins to move his paws with their long,
Sensitive fingers.
Between his fingers you see very fine golden glowing threads appear.
These grow longer and longer,
Swirling together in an enchanting maze.
The dreamweaver seems to cast them out like a net.
Further and further.
Until finally a web of golden threads spreads over the unicorn mother and her foal.
This dome of threads whirls gently.
Enveloping them in a web of safety and beautiful dreams.
The little creature continues to weave.
Causing the web that stretches over the unicorns to display all kinds of intricate patterns.
The fine,
Soft threads remain in motion,
Streaming and flowing into one another.
How lovely of the Dreamweaver to do this,
You think?
The unicorn mother is clearly exhausted as well.
She rests her head upon the grass and falls asleep peacefully.
You too feel the drowsiness washing over you again,
And you close your eyes.
A serene stillness reigns over the clearing,
Making it easy to surrender to sleep.
As you are about to drift off,
You'll perceive a golden glow behind your eyelids.
You open your eyes and see that the dream weaver is now weaving a beautiful golden web over you as well.
In your thoughts.
You send your gratitude to the creature.
You admire the golden threads as they hang sparkling all around you.
Glimmering points of light slide up and down the strands.
And you can almost feel the lovely magic flowing through them.
Like a dome of golden light.
The network spreads out above you.
You don't want to disturb that magic,
So you let your eyelids drop shut once more.
The golden light,
Which you can still see,
Makes you feel safe and secure.
You hear the soft sounds of nature around you.
The dryads,
Fairies and gnomes are settling down as well.
You let go of all your worries.
And your body can fully relax here on the soft grass.
You feel your breath slowing down.
Your entire body releasing tension.
From your forehead becoming soft.
Your cheeks and jaws relaxing.
Your arms resting gently in the grass.
You feel the muscles in your stomach letting go.
Your legs and your feet.
You rest heavily in the grass.
Which supports your weight without any effort.
The golden web above you.
Absorbs all your worries.
So that nothing will keep you from your sleep.
The Dreamweaver watches over you.
Your dreams tonight will be peaceful.
Filled with unicorns.
Endless forests.
And small magical lights guiding your way.
Mm,
Mm,
Mm.
Thank you.
It's cold.
Cold.
Cold.
