Welcome fellow dream weavers,
To a realm of enchantment.
Tonight we'll embark on a journey into the depths of our inner worlds.
The journey will be a sweet one,
Soft and comforting.
And too it shall be a fun one,
Intriguing and engaging.
By the end of our time together,
You'll be roaming around inside your own mind,
Gently lulled into a restful sleep by my words.
To get us there,
I request that you now find a cosy spot and get as comfortable as you can.
The how you get comfortable is up to you of course,
A bed,
A couch,
A reclining chair,
Whatever it may be.
Find your space now,
Get settled,
Close your eyes and let the external world fade away and your internal world light up.
This is a place where all is well and magic reigns supreme.
And so we're ready to begin our adventure together,
Our little bedtime story.
Tonight's story is called Freddy the Frog Prince.
Once upon a time where creatures of all shapes and sizes roamed free,
There lived a young lady named Ella.
Ella was a kind soul,
With a heart as pure as gold.
And locally,
She was thought of as a princess of sorts,
Even though technically speaking,
She wasn't.
She didn't come from a special family line or have any unique heritage,
She was simply the girl next door.
Yet,
People sensed something special about her,
Something royal about her.
And so,
Everywhere she went,
Fanfare seemed to follow.
Even though Ella lived in town,
She enjoyed spending her days exploring the outskirts,
The wilderness.
She was that rare blend of classy yet untamed.
And whilst most of her time in nature was uneventful,
Lovely experiences in their own right but unremarkable,
One day that all changed.
One day,
Whilst wandering deep in the woods,
Ella stumbled upon a talking frog.
This wasn't just any frog,
Mind you,
It was,
In fact,
A prince under a wicked spell.
And so,
With a hop and a croak,
The frog told Ella his story,
Explaining that his real name was actually Freddy.
Freddy continued telling Ella his story.
He was really a human,
He insisted,
But his jealous brother had turned him into a frog with the intent to usurp the throne.
This is the son of the king,
Ella realized,
Astonished.
And now that the king was getting old and Freddy was next in line for the throne,
His younger brother was trying to steal it from him.
The only way to break this spell,
Freddy explained,
Is to find the local wizard who lives atop the Misty Mountain.
Ella nodded,
Understanding.
The sounds of the woods echoing around them.
Determined to help Freddy,
Ella agreed to take him to the Misty Mountain and seek out the wise old wizard who could break the spell.
And so,
She gently scooped him up,
Placed him safely in her pocket,
And whizzed away to begin the adventure of a lifetime.
Was she prepared?
Not exactly,
Nonetheless,
She sprinted headfirst in the direction of the mountains.
Along the way,
Ella and Freddy encountered a sassy squirrel named Sammy and became friends with her.
So much so,
In fact,
That Sammy decided to join their quest,
Chatting away as they walked through the woods together,
Ever deeper by the minute.
Towards the outskirts of the woods,
They climbed a huge hill.
At the bottom,
They rested at a babbling brook.
The trio could now see the Misty Mountain on the horizon.
Finally,
They arrived at the base of the mountain.
And there,
They stumbled upon a cottage owned by three peculiar sisters,
Rose,
Lily,
And Daisy.
These sisters were skilled herbalists,
And after sharing their story with them,
The sisters provided the trio with directions to the wizard that lived at the peak.
He doesn't always take guests,
Said Rose,
But if he answers give him this elixir,
Added Lily.
Combined with his own magic,
It should break that froggy spell,
Finished Daisy,
Standing at the stove,
Cooking them all dinner.
Now refreshed,
The trio set off to reach the mountain's peak,
And after what felt like an age,
They finally made it,
Standing before the wise old wizard's hut.
Hello,
Shouted Ella,
Who was met with silence.
Please answer,
Added Freddy,
Who was met with more silence.
Oi,
We need your help,
Old man,
Added the sassy squirrel.
Unless you're so old,
You don't think you can help.
This sassiness finally stirred the wizard's interest,
And he appeared at the door.
And so,
He ushered them in,
And they shared their story,
Eventually winning the old man over.
I can help you,
He said plainly,
Walking over to his cauldron,
His gnarled fingers dancing over it.
With a pinch of stardust and a sprinkle of moonbeams,
He combined the rare ingredients that only he knew.
And as the mist swirled with a pop and a crack,
The glow from the potion illuminated the room.
It's not quite enough,
He said,
Thinking.
Then Ella remembered the elixir that the sisters had given her earlier,
And handed it to him.
Yes,
This is it.
This shall do it.
He said,
Adding it in.
They all watched as the concoction began to furiously bubble.
It was ready.
And so,
Freddy leapt forward.
Ready too.
Just like that,
The wizard splashed Freddy with the potion and the enchantment lifted.
He was a man again,
And along with his transformation,
The land outside began to transform too,
Blossoming with new plants and flowers.
Thank you,
They all said to the wizard.
You're most welcome,
And I've given you a bonus that you'll discover later.
You'll see.
Ella,
Freddy and Sammy trundled back down the mountain,
Chatting about their adventure along the way.
And once back at the base,
Freddy admitted to Ella that he'd fallen in love with her.
And Ella admitted the same.
Saying farewell to Sammy,
Freddy now found a horse and rode Ella back to town,
Her arms clasped around his waist.
Upon entering the castle,
The place that he called home,
They discovered that his brother,
The one who had viciously turned him into a frog in the first place,
Was now but a frog himself.
This is what the wizard meant by a bonus,
Freddy said.
He gave my brother a taste of his own medicine.
Freddy and Ella laughed together.
I guess you'll be king after all,
Ella said.
Yes,
And you shall be queen,
Said Freddy.
Kissing her,
It turned out that Ella was royalty after all.
And so,
Let the tale of the Frog Prince teach you the value of helping others.
Through Ella's unwavering commitment to Freddy,
She saved not only him,
But herself too,
And the kingdom at large.
If only everyone was as thoughtful and as brave as Ella,
The world would surely be a better place.
A better place indeed.
Until we meet again then,
Fellow Dreamweaver,
Sleep well,
For the dream realms are calling you now,
Reaching out with their gentle touch,
Goodnight to you,
And sweet dreams.
