Wash

I recorded this track early one windless evening on a secret beach near my home. By placing the microphones only inches from the water, I was able to pick up very minute sounds. Listen carefully to the spaces between waves to hear the subtle interplay of sea foam, sand, and stones.

But also very poignant for me. Two friends, one particularly dear to me, died last year at sea sailing from Nova Scotia, and came back ashore there. I believe I was drawn to your recording as part of my process of grief and healing. This would have been the last symphony they heard.
