This bedtime story is the tenth in the '12-days of Christmas bedtime stories' series, related to 'ten lords leaping'. This bedtime story for grown-ups is about ten lords being allowed to compete for a chance to take on Highcastle, a jewel of prosperity and the land surrounding it. They take on several challenges, from jumping from bridge to bridge over a gorge, carrying heavy stones in snow, and solving a riddle. Each lord is successful, so they have one last leap of faith, they are to jump the gorge the bridges cross. Each lord has to do this one by one, taking great courage. Only one lord completes this final test. That lord is given the prize of Highcastle and the surrounding land to look after and serve the people of this land. The other lords get given smaller areas of land to manage. At the end of the day, the lord heads to bed here in Highcastle and drifts asleep into Slumberland.
