Good morning,
Good afternoon,
Welcome to your classroom meditation.
A meditation that was made just for you.
This is the time in which you can take for yourself to calm your mind and get ready for the rest of the day.
Comfortable in your chair,
Wherever your teacher says it's okay.
Make sure you have something to lean against,
A chair,
As you make yourself comfortable.
Close your eyes.
Yes,
It can be hard to do this,
But trust that this is what you need right now.
You feel uncomfortable doing this?
Just put your head down.
As you sink into the space that you are in,
It's time to relax.
Feel the earth beneath you.
It's in your mind.
Tune out the outside world.
As you turn off your inside chatter,
I invite you to take those worries that you may have right now.
Whether it's worries that come from home,
Or it's worries that come from your friends,
Or maybe from school.
Put these worries away.
You don't need them right now.
Imagine a large box that has a removable top.
Take the top off and put these worries into the box.
Put them all in the box.
You do not need them right now.
Once all your worries are in there,
You've put them in the box.
Take the lid and put it on the box.
Let the box float away from you.
You can see it floating away,
Getting smaller and smaller,
Getting farther away from you.
Let your worries go to another place and another time.
You don't need them right now.
Remember,
They are exactly where you're supposed to be right now.
You are safe,
Cared for,
Are important.
I want you to take a deep,
Quiet breath in through your nose.
Let's do another one.
Make sure it's a quiet breath in through your nose,
Out your mouth.
Now,
Imagine a favorite place where you feel safe,
Love to be.
Maybe this safe place is in your bedroom.
Maybe it's at your favorite beach.
Or maybe it's in the forest.
Wherever your safe place is,
Picture it in your mind and go there.
See all the surroundings around you.
This is your favorite place.
As you are imagining your safe place,
Quieten your mind.
Just listen.
You are safe.
As you're listening to the music,
If thoughts come into your mind,
Acknowledge the thought and let it go.
Calm your mind.
Remember,
You're exactly where you're supposed to be.
You are safe,
Cared for.
Continue to imagine your safe place.
Can you hear when you're there?
Can you smell the smell of the sea air?
You see the smell of the forest,
The smell of somebody cooking in the kitchen.
You're exactly where you need to be.
Now,
It's getting time to come back from your meditation.
It's time to leave your safe space and return to your body.
Return to your seat.
Return to the classroom.
You are feeling very calm.
Feeling fantastic.
You are ready to learn.
You are ready to be a great friend,
Classmate,
For the rest of the day.
This day is going to be awesome.
The reason is that you are here,
Exactly where you need to be.
Give your feet a little wiggle,
Hands a little wiggle,
Back into the room.
Thank you for joining me on this classroom meditation built just for you.
Enjoy the rest of the day.
