A 7-minute meditation brings the listener out of their mind and gently into their body. Using the idea of thoughts as clouds, to help us detach from our thoughts. Listeners are asked to choose a deep desire for an intention and guided through an exercise of noticing, honoring, giving space to, and releasing thoughts that do not serve this deeply desired intention. Transcript

Welcome to this meditation on overcoming limiting beliefs.

Start by finding a comfortable seat or a shape that you know feels good for your body.

This could be sitting up or lying down.

There's really no right way to do this,

No wrong way to do this.

It's choosing what feels intuitively good for you physically.

Enjoy a nice long inhale.

And enjoy releasing that inhale through exhale.

Just start to notice the breath moving in and out.

Giving yourself some time to adjust to being here.

Making little physical adjustments,

Movements.

And taking a little transition time from being out in the world to being here in your body.

Start to feel the muscles in your face relax.

Start to feel your spine lengthen.

Noticing a little space between each vertebrae.

Maybe even feeling a little bit of space between where your spine meets the base of your skull.

And feeling a little bit of space where the base of your spine meets your sacral bone at the back of your hips.

And now that you're nice and physically comfortable and set up,

Come back to that enjoyable inhale.

Feeling your lungs expand,

Your ribs make space for your expanded lungs.

And then on the exhale,

Without losing any lightness,

Just letting the muscles,

The tissues,

The bones feel heavy and soft.

Notice the thoughts in your mind.

Notice that they exist,

They take up space,

They move.

But they are not who you are.

Much like clouds moving through a sky.

Imagining these thoughts moving and shifting in the background.

Allow yourself to find an intention that is something you deeply desire.

Let this intention be something more permanent.

Like the sun in the sky.

Something that warms you when you turn your attention towards it.

And as the thoughts continue to move through your mind,

Through the sky of your consciousness,

Notice which thoughts are serving that intention that warms you,

That fuels your soul.

And which thoughts are keeping you stuck,

Confused,

Angry,

And hurt.

Honor all of these feelings and thoughts without resisting their existence.

In the same way that we wouldn't resist clouds in the sky.

Allow for a little space around each thought,

Around each feeling.

We know all thoughts,

All emotions come from our experience.

While we may not be able to change something that happened to us,

May we hold that experience with our breath and give it some room to move,

To shift,

And to be released.
