This meditation uses halo or "holy light" visualization and connection techniques paired with a body scan for deep relaxation. Meditating on the halo is a way to open and balance the crown chakra, deepen spiritual awareness, and incorporate into a devotional practice.

Bring yourself to a comfortable spot.

You can be sitting or lying down.

Take your time becoming comfortable and giving yourself every adjustment that you need to completely relax into this moment.

Notice if the physical adjustments of where the hands and arms placed make any kind of difference and take your time with this part getting set up for your practice.

Notice if it feels better to have your palms facing upward or downwards off or on the body.

Allow your eyes to softly close and begin to deepen your breath,

Connecting completely and wholly to the body that you are in and to the moment that you are in here and now.

Allow each round of breath to let go of thoughts,

Tasks and distractions around and within you.

Take a deep breath in drawing in this intention of being still and being silent and being connected.

Exhale any kind of resistance to being still and silent.

As you're breathing deeply in and out through the nose,

You can define just a small pause in between the inhalation and the exhalation.

Just pause there for a moment before you let the breath continue to roll through your body.

Notice how that changes the feeling,

The rhythm,

The sensation of breathing.

Just finding a small pause in between each breath moving in and out.

With the eyes closed,

Begin to visualize figures you have seen or just what comes to mind with the word halo.

Notice what figures or art forms or sights you've seen before or even just the feeling of the presence that is invited into your meditation by visualizing a halo.

Continuing to breathe in and out.

In and out.

In and out.

Notice what does that look like to you?

What does that feel like?

Begin to visualize a halo right above the crown of your head.

A ring of light hovering over you.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing in through the nose,

Finding a subtle stop and then slowly exhaling.

And this halo giving off a light,

A bright warm glow emanating from it right above you.

With each slow round of breath moving in and out of your body,

This light begins to wash downward,

Covering your being.

As you breathe in and out,

Allow yourself to be washed and renewed in the awareness of this light that is both above and within.

Starting at the crown of your head,

Imagine this light softening over the face,

Down to your shoulders,

Moving down the arms,

Hands,

Each of your fingers,

Down to your fingertips.

Bring your awareness to the center of your chest,

Allowing this light to wash down over the navel and the lower body,

Down the legs,

To the ankles,

Washing down over the feet,

Down to the tips of your toes.

A deep breath in of this light and a big breath out.

As you're breathing in,

Not just taking in air,

Fresh oxygen for the body,

But the energy and the healing of this light.

Allow it to clear space within yourself.

Allow it to fill you with more presence and awareness,

Allowing it to take away or remove any kind of stagnant energy or anything that isn't serving us or anything that is no longer serving the highest good at this moment.

As we're inhaling,

We're receiving light,

And as we're exhaling,

We are releasing and relaxing more into this light.

Take several breaths here,

Slowly,

Smoothly,

Taking your time,

Breathing and being in this light,

That is shining and hovering over the crown of your head and extending all the way down to your feet,

Covering you completely and wholly,

And now filling your being as well.

Begin to deepen your breath as you bring yourself back to the awareness of this moment in time and your physical body.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Keeping the eyes closed,

Allow your head to gently lower,

Acknowledging,

Extending thanks for the light that is within you,

Within all beings,

The light that is both within and above.

Namaste.
