Be sure you're comfortable.
Maybe raise your hips on a pillow so your knees can fall a little bit lower.
Then take a deep breath in through the nose and then gently let it go.
Take another breath in and then slowly let that one go as well.
Just continue to slow the breath down.
You begin to put off to the side some of those many distractions that pull upon you so that you can be here now.
And if it helps,
You can open your palms up to receive the words that Mother Teresa gave us,
Words that inspired her,
That Jesus told her.
So if it helps,
You can imagine Jesus maybe sitting in front of you or next to you or behind you,
Placing his hand on your shoulder.
And he says this,
I thirst for you.
I stand at the door of your heart day and night,
Even when you're not listening,
Even when you doubt it could be me.
I am there waiting for even the smallest signal of your response,
Even the smallest suggestion of an invitation that will permit me to enter.
I want you to know that each time you invite me,
I do come always without fail.
Silent and invisible I come,
Yet with a power and a love most infinite,
Bringing the many gifts of my Spirit.
I come with my mercy,
With my desire to forgive and heal you,
With a love for you that goes beyond your comprehension.
I come longing to console you and give you strength,
To lift you up and bind all your wounds.
I bring you my light to dispel your darkness and all your doubts.
I know you like the palm of my hand.
I know everything about you,
Even the hairs of your head I have counted.
Nothing in your life is unimportant to me.
I have followed you through the years and I've always loved you even though you've strayed.
I know every one of your problems.
I know your needs and your worries and yes,
I know all your sins.
I know it's in your heart.
I know your loneliness and all your wounds,
The rejections,
The judgments,
The humiliations.
I carried it all before you and I carried it all for you so you could share my strength and my victory.
I know above all your need for love,
How much you are thirsting for love and tenderness.
I thirst for you.
Yes,
That is the only way to even begin to describe my love for you.
I thirst for you.
I thirst to love and to be loved by you.
So precious are you to me that I thirst for you.
Come to me and I will fill your heart and heal your wounds.
I will make you a new creation and give you peace even in your trials.
So just let those words permeate deep within you.
And if a word,
A phrase really resonated with you,
Repeat that.
And if you imagine Jesus with you right now,
Say to him,
I thirst for you and pour out your love to him.
Let that love bind you,
Sustain you,
Anchor you.
And if you have the time,
You can stay a few more moments.
But if not,
You can place your fingers onto the floor,
Onto the chair,
Onto your lap,
Slightly open your eyes and still feel that love deep within you as you go about your day or evening.
And if there is a time where you think that you can't make it,
A time of trial,
Time of suffering,
Maybe catch yourself and remind yourself who is always with you,
Even if it's just a matter of saying,
I thirst.
Have a peaceful day.
God bless.
God bless.
