This was beautiful

I’m sorry I let my wariness over this act’s name (“beauty” is in the ears of the beholder) stop me from checking out much of their work until now. This brief chant really does make a good fit with the throat chakra, and I appreciate the way it lifts equally from—or at least reminds me of—“Western” minimalism, ancient folk melodies from around the globe, and pop, along with what we typically think of as “Eastern” mantras and chants.

This one particularly reminds me not just of Petra Haden’s a capella recordings but also Sheila Chandra’s music.
