Flower (Unconditional Love)

A poem about unconditional Love, which emerged while simply observing a flower in my back yard. I noticed all the beautiful creatures who stopped by to visit the flower. And the whole scene felt like a wonderful, deep immersion into unconditional Love.

I've been watching that flower and the hummingbirds and butterflies who come to visit every few minutes and it has become immediately obvious to me why flowers bloom. It's unconditional love. They are simply being as beautiful as they can be in the only way they know how, Turning no one away and giving what little they can. And though the flower asks nothing in return, I can see its reward for its offering of unconditional love. It gets to experience the beautiful things of this world up close. Hummingbirds and butterflies and you. And it makes me wonder, If all it takes is unconditional love, Maybe I can bloom too.
