I love you.
And whatever you're going through today,
You can get through.
Remember what you've been through up to this point.
And be strong at who you are.
Loss can be one of the heaviest things to go through in life,
And everyone grieves differently.
That's why it's so hard to help others who are experiencing it.
Grief and loss is like carrying a big rock in your pocket.
At first,
It's so heavy you can barely move,
And you don't think you can do it.
But as time goes on,
You learn how to walk with it.
The heaviness never goes away.
You just adapt to it.
So today.
.
.
We're going to learn a tool and technique to help you move through loss and grief.
The objective isn't to get rid of it.
It's to learn how to live with it.
So when you're ready.
.
.
In your sitting pose or laying down.
Go ahead and close your eyes.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose.
And exhale through the mouth.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose.
And out through the mouth.
One more,
In through the nose.
And out through the mouth.
Bring to mind a person that you've lost in your lifetime.
If it's too recent,
Then bring another loss to mind.
When you think about the loss,
Most likely,
There are a lot of negative thoughts,
Emotions,
And energy there.
Today,
We're going to rewire that.
So bring to mind the person you lost.
Let the negative feelings and emotions come up.
Now,
Right in the middle of feeling that,
Change your thinking to a good memory,
A positive one that you have with them.
Maybe it's something they said.
Maybe it's a special place that you were there with him.
But bring that to your mental space.
See it.
Feel it.
Feel the joy as if you were there.
Smile.
You Where do you feel that joy in your body?
Maybe it's your heart,
Your chest,
Your head.
But where do you feel that joy?
You once you locate it.
Focus your attention and awareness fully on that spot in your body.
You Really feel it.
And don't forget to smile.
You Now bring to mind another memory.
Again,
Maybe it's something they said.
A one-liner.
Or it's a special place.
A house.
A yard.
And feel the joy.
Feel it in your body.
Once you locate it,
Focus your attention and awareness fully on that spot in your body.
Really feel it.
And finally,
Think of one more positive memory that you have with them.
Maybe it's having a meal.
Maybe it's watching a certain movie,
Playing a certain game.
What is it?
See ya.
Feel it.
Feel the joy.
As if you were there.
Smile.
And again,
Where do you feel that joy in your body?
Maybe it's all the same place as the rest of the memories,
That's okay.
But where do you feel it?
And focus your full attention and awareness there.
Smile.
Repeat after me.
I am so happy and grateful for these memories.
I am so happy and grateful for these memories.
I am so happy and grateful for these memories.
Feel the gratitude in that spot that you declared earlier where you felt the joy.
Feel the gratitude.
Take note.
How do you feel right now?
Is it different than when we started?
Is it different than when I asked you to bring the loss to mind?
That's the rewiring process.
Repeat after me.
I am strong.
I am strong.
I am strong.
I am healing.
I am healing.
I am healing.
I give myself permission to heal.
I give myself permission to heal.
I give myself permission to heal.
Say these three affirmations every time that a negative emotion or feeling comes up about the loss.
Because the truth is,
You are strong enough.
You are healing.
But you have to give yourself permission to do so.
Remember,
You're carrying a heavy rock that will never completely go away.
So you have to build the strength to carry it.
And you're doing that.
Let us close.
With a deep breath.
Inhale.
Hold.
Exhale and feel the shoulders drop.
You are healing.
Namaste.
