Rivers Of Stars
In Februay 2018 Adrian travelled to Australia for the first time, where he met a sweet soul, a fellow musical traveller, by the name of Amir Paiss. Amir plays the Persian santur and he was co- founder of the internationally acclaimed Hebrew-Arab world music ensemble SHEVA. Amir and Adrian played an impromptu evening of music together at a house concert in Byron Bay, before meeting up a few nights later to make an outdoor recording. They took advantage of the balmy, warm evening, setting up some mics in a beautiful hillside garden under a starry sky. There was no audience, just the moon, the stillness of the trees and the sounds of the night; the chirupping of the insects in the background adding another dimension, as their sounds weave into the notes of the song. This recording is the product of that evening, with the title of this song, a Sufi term for the supersensible, interdimensional atmosphere of night.
