The phrase 'everything happens for a reason' is offered with love — and it is one of the most common forms of spiritual bypass available. It asks the nervous system to perform acceptance before grief has been allowed to complete. It skips the part where the honest response is permitted: this was wrong, this hurt, this should not have happened. This sacred talk offers the distinction that changes everything: meaning is not the same as reason. Grief does not need a justification in order to be real. The healing does not require finding a design. And the nervous system cannot fully heal inside a story that asks it to accept before it has been witnessed. This is for anyone who was given the phrase when they needed something different. Something more honest. Includes a somatic guided journey for giving grief what it actually needs, and a closing reflection. Created by integrative somatic therapist and family constellation facilitator Abi Beri.
