Truly,
Every second we're alive,
Miracles are transpiring.
Each moment,
An invitation is sent out to witness these miracles that are happening within miracles.
Within miracles.
Within miracles.
Within miracles.
I invite you to close your eyes and gently get comfortable in whatever manner works for you.
If you want to focus on your breathing,
You can do that.
Just settle your body in the best way that makes you feel relaxed.
Let's begin by taking three intentional breaths to ground us and connect to our body.
Breathe in through the nose,
Hold it,
And just gently let it out.
What does it feel like to be alive right now at this moment?
Notice that by feeling into your body.
If an extraterrestrial life form came down from another planet and asked you what does it feel like to be a human alive here on earth,
What would you say?
Use this moment right now to experience just what that is.
We are going to walk through each one of our five senses and acknowledge them without judging them just by noticing them,
Feeling love for them,
And expressing gratitude for them.
To start,
Gently tune your awareness to your sense of hearing.
What are you hearing right now?
This can be the most prevalent sound all the way to the most subtle sound.
Just hear what you're hearing.
No judgment,
Just notice and experience what it feels like to hear.
Maybe it's just the piano music gently playing in the background of this track.
Maybe if you're outside or near a window,
You can hear birds chirping or the wind blowing.
Maybe there's no distinct sound where you are,
But you can detect that subtle sound of nothingness,
That slight buzz of empty space.
Hear it and say thank you,
Ears.
Thank you for this magnificent gift of hearing.
Now bring your awareness to your sense of sight.
Keeping your eyes closed,
Notice what you see.
Maybe it's simply blackness.
Maybe you can see the slivers of light coming through the window.
Maybe you see colors.
Maybe fractals or patterns floating in front of your eyes.
Just see whatever it is you're seeing and experience what it feels like to see,
To have sight.
And now say thank you,
Eyes.
Thank you for this superpower known as sight.
Now bring your awareness to your sense of touch.
What do you feel right now?
Maybe it's your body against a chair,
Maybe the floor beneath your feet.
Maybe you can feel your shirt graze against your skin as you breathe in and out.
Connect with your profound ability to perceive any and all tactile sensations and experience what that feels like to have the ability to touch.
Feel it.
And say thank you,
Body,
For giving me this gift of touch.
Now bring your awareness to your sense of smell.
What can you smell right now?
Maybe it's the soap you use.
Maybe the window is opened,
Or you're outside and you can smell the grass or the flowers.
Without judgment,
What does it feel like to have your sense of smell?
Maybe there isn't a prevalent smell that you can detect.
If so,
Just notice how you experience the absence of smell.
Either way though,
Say thank you nose.
Thank you for this splendid gift of smell.
Finally bring your awareness to your sense of taste.
What do you taste right now?
Even when we are not eating or drinking,
There is always some sort of taste we can sense in our mouth.
Maybe it's your toothpaste or mouthwash.
Maybe you can taste your morning coffee.
And again,
Perhaps there isn't a prevalent taste happening for you.
That's okay too.
Just connect with the sensations in your mouth.
And notice what it feels like to have the sense of taste.
Now say thank you Chung.
Thank you for this brilliant gift known as taste.
Now from this place of heightened awareness of your senses and from this place of deep gratitude,
Gently plug into all of your senses by becoming aware of as many as you can simultaneously.
Hear,
See,
Feel,
Taste,
Smell,
Layer each of these precious gifts onto your awareness.
Allow yourself to have a full body sensory experience in which all of your senses are engaged and firing at the same time.
Think of a time when all of your senses were being activated all at once and you would experience a complete full body sensory experience.
Maybe you were swimming in the ocean against the waves.
Maybe it was when you were being intimate with someone.
Plug into that feeling right now of being aware of all your senses.
Allow your perception to be like a symphony with all of your senses singing and buzzing in harmony throughout your being and just bask in this beautiful harmonious symphony known as your five senses.
And of course,
Let's not forget to say thank you.
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you senses for this precious gift of perception to experience this miracle known as life.
Truly every second we're alive there is an invitation sent out by our five senses to witness and experience this miracle because after all it is through our five senses that we create our perception and by extension every sign of appreciation for your five senses becomes an opportunity to remember you're alive to acknowledge what that feels like and to find peace in that truth alone.
Linger in that truth now.
And whenever you're ready you can slowly bring your awareness back to your breath and the room you are in and open your eyes.
You're alive.
Go out and witness miracles.
