Welcome!
This meditation is for the introverted nervous system.
The one that absorbs everything.
The one that feels tired not from weakness,
But from death.
Find a comfortable position.
Let your hands rest gently.
Soften your jaw.
Allow your eyes to close if that feels safe.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And exhale gently through your mouth.
You have been navigating an overstimulating world.
Noise,
Expectations,
Conversations.
.
.
Energy that doesn't belong to you.
Right now.
You don't have to process anything.
You are allowed to simply be.
Introvert burnout is not laziness.
It's nervous system overload.
It happens when there has been too much input,
Too many voices,
Too much pressure to respond,
Engage,
Perform,
Or explain.
Your system wasn't designed for constant outward flow.
It restores in quiet,
In solitude,
In gentle spaces.
So if you feel exhausted after social environments,
Open offices or crowded rooms,
Nothing is wrong with you.
Your body has been asking for refuge.
And today,
You are giving it that refuge.
Bring your awareness to your shoulders.
Notice if you're holding energy that isn't yours.
Imagine gently brushing off invisible dust.
Other people's moods.
Other people's urgency.
Other people's expectations.
With each exhale,
Reliefs.
You do not have to carry what was never yours.
Now bring awareness to your mind.
If it feels noisy,
Imagine turning down a dimmer switch.
Not forcing silence.
Just lowering the volume.
Your mind is allowed to quiet gradually.
Overstimulation,
Fades and layers.
And you are peeling those layers back now.
Imagine a quiet room inside you.
Soft lighting,
Comfortable air.
No demands.
This is your inner sanctuary.
No one interrupts here.
No one needs anything from you.
In this space,
You don't have to speak,
Respond.
Or make eye contact.
You simply exist.
Notice how your breathing slows here.
Notice how your chest softens.
Your nervous system recognizes safety and quiet.
Let yourself settle deeper.
This is restoration.
Place one hand over your heart.
Feel the gentle rhythm there.
Your body has been working hard to filter stimulation.
It deserves gratitude.
Silently say,
Thank you for protecting me.
Thank you for signaling when I've had enough.
Take a slow inhale for four.
And the long exhale for six.
Longer exhales tell your body it is safe.
You were not behind.
You are not antisocial.
You are not broken.
You are sensitive in a world that moves quickly.
And sensitivity is strength.
Give yourself permission now.
Permission to leave early.
Permission to decline invitations.
Permission to take quiet breaks.
You do not owe the world constant access to your energy.
You are allowed boundaries that protect your peace.
Imagine drawing a soft boundary around yourself.
Not a wall.
Just a gentle,
Breathable perimeter.
Energy can flow out slowly.
And only what feels safe flows in.
Your system thrives on intention,
Not intensity.
You are allowed to design a life that matches your rhythm.
Take one final slow breath in.
And release.
Notice the quiet that has grown.
Burnout recovery for introverts.
Is not about becoming louder.
It is about becoming who you are.
Better protected.
Carry the softness with you.
Return to this inner quiet.
Whenever the world feels too loud.
And when you're ready.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
And open your eyes.
You are restored more than you realize.
Thank you for practicing with me.
