Welcome to this guided meditation on support.
Many people struggle with the feeling of feeling supported and actually knowing that life can and does support us.
So I invite you to come with me on a journey to explore the feeling of being supported.
Start by finding a comfortable seated position or lying down allowing your body to feel supported either by the chair or the bed that you're lying on.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale feel yourself softening into the surface beneath you.
Allow yourself to feel grounded right here and now as much as is possible at the moment.
Take a few more deep breaths noticing how each exhale allows you to release a little more and settle fully into the moment.
Now gently bring your awareness to the top of your head imagining a soft wave of relaxation moving down your face through your neck and shoulders softening and releasing any tension.
Feel this wave blowing down through your arms into your hands down your torso and into your hips.
As much as possible take note of any resistance and release it as you're comfortable.
Let go of any holding in your legs feeling your knees soften,
Your calves relaxed and your feet gently resting on the ground or on the bed.
Feel the support of the earth underneath your feet or feel your entire body being supported by the bed you are lying on.
Now imagine the air around you is alive with a warm gentle energy,
A supportive loving presence that deeply deeply cares for you.
Imagine this energy cradling you,
Holding you in a gentle reassuring way as though life itself is embracing and supporting you.
Never judge whatever emotions or thoughts come up while you do that.
Just allow these thoughts or emotions to travel through you without any kind of attachment to them.
Feel the softness of this presence,
The warmth it brings around you and maybe inside of you and allow yourself to sink into it as much as is comfortable at the moment,
Knowing that you don't need to do anything to deserve this warm embrace.
Imagine that life is here holding you,
Supporting you unconditionally.
Picture this supportive energy filling every part of you.
Let it flow through your chest,
Soothing your heart,
Calming your mind.
You may feel a gentle smile arising as you connect with a sensation of being held and being deeply supported by life itself.
Now repeat to yourself either silently or aloud these words.
I allow life to support me.
I am surrounded by friends who deeply care for me.
I am safe to explore,
Grow and be myself fully.
I trust that life supports me in every moment.
I am grateful for all friendships and support that fill my life with warmth.
I feel held and uplifted by the community of friends and colleagues in my life.
I am worthy of friendships that uplift and support me.
The world around me is gentle and supportive.
I invite the power of support to enter my life in a beautiful way.
And so it is.
Whenever you're ready,
Take a deep grounding breath deep into your belly,
Expanding your lungs,
Feeling the space it creates inside of you,
Allowing all these feelings of support and safety to settle within you and in that space.
Take a deep out breath and allow everything to go that you no longer need.
You can do that a few times,
Whatever feels good.
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the space around you,
Feeling the support of the surface beneath you,
The air around you and knowing that this feeling of support is now always accessible to you.
Slowly open your eyes,
Carrying the sense of being loved and supported with you as you continue into your day.
