Why Should I Compromise? - The Female Stoic Podcast
This short is taken from a longer session of The Female Stoic podcast where we discuss how we can empower ourselves in a stoic way. In the 18th Century, the Blue Stockings Society was an informal women's social and educational movement in England that emphasised education and mutual cooperation. (Hence the wig!) The Female Stoic Podcast looks at the Stoic Philosophy through a Bluestocking Lens. It offers practical, non judgemental advice for women, with reference to the Female Literary Masters and the lessons they teach us. Your host Stephanie Poppins, is a former high school teacher of English Literature and Philosophy, and considers herself to be a Natural Born Stoic. Today's lesson is about compromise and how apt for now I am compromising.
Why?
Because I understand there are different ways to honour your higher self and some of those are compromise.
It is not easy to produce,
Create,
Perform.
It is not easy to be part of the 21st century noise.
There are many demands placed upon us.
But within that noise,
If we can honour our higher self and be the authentic voice,
The voice of honesty,
Of truth and also of education,
Of knowledge,
If we can pass that on through our lessons,
Then we are honouring our higher self.
LM Montgomery said,
Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet.
I'm hoping this lesson was not a mistake.
