It's About Them, Not You - With The Female Stoic
Let's talk about the downside of Stoicism. When we choose to honour our Higher Self, others we come into contact with will constantly be looking for chinks in our armour (as they see them). If we make a mistake or forget something, for example, they will focus on that and use it as a stick to beat us with. This SHORT is about why. Hello and welcome to another short with a female Stoic.
Today I want to talk about the possible negative effects of stoicism,
The negativity we can experience at the hands of others when we elect to become more stoic.
So when you have high standards,
When you are actively honoring your highest self,
I've found people will constantly be looking for weakness,
Faults,
Flaws in your armour,
Chinks as they see them.
And once found,
They will focus relentlessly on that chink,
That fault,
That flaw,
And repeat it back to you over and over and over.
Be assured this is about them,
This is not about you.
Don't get drawn in,
That's the mistake.
And understand because they cannot commit to self-mastery.
They will do everything they can to undermine yours.
Stoicism teaches us that.
We are responsible for our reactions.
We are responsible for the protection of our inner peace and any externals that are attacking that are indeed just that,
External to the walls of our inner citadel.
We keep them high so no one can get in.
See you next time.
