Welcome to the Sureni Talk.
Where I bring you a topic to reflect in a different type of practice,
Slightly less formal,
Something you can hear while you are going about your day.
And maybe you'll take this with you.
I've been pondering a lot about our social networks.
How sometimes we can hide them,
Ignore them,
Keep them quiet.
Instead of sharing them.
And this is my proposition for you today.
To share your social network.
To introduce those two people,
To make that recommendation.
To give a shout out to a certain person you remembered because someone else told you they were just in need of that person's specialty.
Sometimes we might feel small.
Invisible.
Impactless.
We go about our daily tasks,
Our work,
Our relationships.
And it's almost like what we do is not reaching the other.
And I'm here to remind you that that is just a sensation.
Just a feeling,
And like all other feelings,
It too shall pass.
It's a matter of where we put our attention on.
It's okay.
We accept that feeling.
We understand.
It's just a phase.
And in that spirit,
I invite you to remember that your impact.
Is how you show up in life.
Your impact is how you carry yourself in your social settings.
Your impact is the attitude you choose to bring every day.
We don't need to do anything big,
Flashy to have an impact.
Because we are all living together.
We are all gravitating these spaces and impacting each other all the time.
And it would do us very good to remember that.
To remember that wherever we blow life into,
Something flourishes.
And isn't that nice?
Isn't that so very true?
So the next time someone is struggling,
Debating what to do,
Thinking about something they need.
And you immediately think of a book,
Of a place,
Of a business you might recommend,
Don't keep quiet.
Share it.
Make that introduction,
That association.
And let it unfold.
We never know what might come of it,
And it's completely out of our hands.
But every so often,
Someone will come back.
And tell you very casually.
How that single moment you decided to share had a huge impact in their lives.
Every so often,
Maybe not in their own lives.
But then they decided to re-share.
To double your recommendation.
And that life you blew found an even further direction.
And still it flourished.
We all live in this major cosmos built of little cosmos of life.
And isn't it grand when someone tells us that?
That we blew life in a direction and something flourished.
No effort.
No big accomplishment.
Just our small part in this stage of life.
So here is my invitation today.
Look around and let your impact be you.
Your life experience,
Your contacts,
Everything you have been through.
That is your story.
And your story will always serve as a light to someone else's.
And will serve as a light so that someone will not feel alone.
And for your day,
For tomorrow,
Show up with the impact you'd like to see.
Share a smile.
You don't have to beam joy.
A gentle smile.
Let someone pass ahead of you at the grocery line.
Let someone have the last muffin.
Cheer a runner,
Take that picture for that couple that is visiting your town.
Open yourselves a little more and breathe life in some new direction.
Because you'll know.
Something will flourish.
Thank you for being here today.
And remember you are seen.
And your impact is all about being uniquely you.
