Hello there beautiful.
Thank you for joining me today as we talk about who you want to be this year.
There's a lot going on in the world.
We all know that it's been really difficult to live in this time period,
Frankly.
And it can be hard to have big dreams and big visions for yourself exist concurrently with the moment that we're living in.
For myself in particular,
I've always been really interested in history.
And what seems to be clear as I reflect on history is that in any moment in time when things were difficult,
There was always someone moving forward towards their goals.
And oftentimes those goals included something that advanced the collective.
So whether you're feeling low in motivation or you're living in a place like I am where winter has seemingly gone on forever,
Or you don't feel like you're in control of your trajectory because of everything else going on around you,
I'd like for you to remember the people before you.
And also I'd like for you to have some agency within yourself to move forward on this trajectory.
I think it would be wrong to say that you're not affected by what's going on around you because of course you are.
But I still think there are glimmers that we can grab onto.
And these little pieces of light are what's going to move us forward.
I kind of think of it similarly to maybe when you were a kid and you would catch a firefly.
And when you opened your hand,
You would see this little beautiful light and it would give you so much joy.
And then you would release that light into the world.
And even in the night,
The world was a little bit brighter.
This is what I'd like for you.
So today we're going to be finding our fireflies.
We're going to be catching them.
And then we're going to be releasing into the world the light that brightens up the whole sky.
So we're going to do a bit of a visualization to help us get closer to who we want to be.
I would like for you to take a deep breath in for 3,
2,
1.
And now hold it for 3,
2,
1.
And then exhale for 3,
2,
1.
Please get into a position that is most comfortable for you.
Whether that's seated or laying either indoors or outdoors.
Whatever you feel is the most comfortable for you.
Now I would like you to close your eyes and place your hand on your heart.
And place your other hand on your stomach if that's accessible to you today.
I would like for you to picture yourself in a long hallway.
The walls of this hallway are bright white.
There are a series of shelves along the hallway.
And at the very end of the hallway,
There's a door with a warm glowing light peering out of its edges.
That light feels magnetic to you and you're going to be moving towards that light.
But on our way there,
We're going to stop at each of these shelves.
I would like for you to go to the first shelf.
On that first shelf,
You will see a big sign that says comfort.
I want you to imagine all of the things in your life that have brought you comfort.
That have made you feel safe and secure and warm and protected.
And now on that shelf,
Those things are going to appear for you.
I would like you to pick up all of the ones that are most important and make you feel the most comfortable.
And I would like you to place them in a bag or a basket that is available to you beneath that shelf.
Grab your basket and let yourself be pulled towards that light a little bit more.
And you'll find yourself at the next shelf.
At this next shelf,
You will find a big sign above it that says fears.
I want you to think back to all of the fears in your life that have held you back from doing what you want to do.
That have maybe kept you small.
That have not gotten you to where you're trying to go.
And I would like you to grab the biggest one.
The one that's hovering over you the most.
And put it into your bag.
Now you're going to keep feeling that light pulling you closer and closer to it.
And you're going to get to your next shelf.
In this shelf,
The sign is going to say wardrobe.
And there's going to be a rack beneath it for clothes.
I want you to think about all of the clothing that the version of you that you're trying to be would wear.
The type of clothing that from the inside out shows who you are.
When you think of someone who is embodying the life that you'd like to live,
What do they wear?
Do they wear very colorful clothing?
Do they wear lots of linens?
Do they wear earthy tones?
Do they wear warm colors?
What do they wear?
I'd like you to manifest this beautiful wardrobe.
And put that in your bag or your basket.
And then also put on one of the outfits that makes you feel the absolute best.
Now we're going to move forward a little bit more.
The light is going to pull us in.
And we're going to get to our last shelf.
In this shelf,
There are going to be characteristics of who you want to be.
The sign above it says,
Who are you?
This could be the person that you are this year,
Next year,
Five years from now,
Ten years from now.
But it is the person that is the most embodied version of who you're trying to become.
I would like you to pause and take some time to think about what those words might be.
You might want to pick up a journal and write them down if that's accessible to you.
As an example for myself,
I would pick the words vibrant,
Expansive,
Intuitive,
Curious,
Communal.
I would like for you to think about some of the things that are coming to your mind.
And I would like you to grab every single word that you can conjure up and put them into your bag.
And now,
On that shelf,
There's also going to be another word that I'd like you to take a pause to think about.
This is the word that counteracts your fear.
As an example for myself,
One of my big fears is self-abandonment.
This is something that I have done that I don't love,
And I don't want to repeat,
And it scares me that I will.
So if I'm at this shelf,
I would pick the word self-belief.
And I would pick that because I know that I believe in myself enough,
That I have the skills,
The tool set,
And the lived experience,
To be able to counteract that fear,
Even if it does come up,
And I have to navigate it and experience it again.
I know and believe in myself to be able to do so,
Because I've done it in the past,
And I can move through it again.
So I would like for you to think about what that word is to counteract your fear,
And take it and put it in your bag.
Now,
You are at the door.
You have everything that you need.
You feel that light,
And it's shining so bright,
And it's so warm from underneath.
It's warm all over you.
You can feel it really hugging you.
I want you to know that in your bag,
You have all the tools and the resources.
In your heart,
In your mind,
In your intuition,
You have all of the resources to become this version of you you're trying to become.
I want you to pause for a second again and think about what's beyond that door.
On the other side is exactly what you're looking for.
I want you to trust that you have the skills,
The agency,
And the love within yourself to build whatever it is you think you need.
Now,
My dear friend,
Please open that door and let that light pull you in.
And what's on the other side of it is who you are and who you're trying to be.
And that person is absolutely stunning.
Move forward with brightness.
Move forward with kindness.
I trust you.
I believe in you.
You've got this.
Thank you.
