Welcome to The Positive Mentor.
My name is Kane and this Yoga Nidra reading,
We will be focusing on values.
If you'd like to take a moment and jot down a Sankalpa based on core values,
Take the time before we begin.
To allow yourself to understand those values that you use more frequently.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is about to begin.
Make yourself comfortable on your back.
With your arms relaxed by your sides and your feet gently rolling out.
Allow your eyes to close softly.
Take a few moments to notice the surface beneath you.
Letting the weight of your body sink into the support.
Say to yourself,
I will stay awake.
I will listen to the voice.
Repeat this three times.
Let this practice be a space of rest.
Presence.
And gentle awareness.
Set your intention.
Take a moment to think and recall it.
Your Sankalpa.
Now state it three times in the positive,
As if it has already happened.
The body awareness will move quite quickly.
Allow your attention to move to each part and move on.
Allow your awareness to travel to your right hand.
Bring your awareness to your right hand thumb.
Second finger.
Third finger.
Fourth finger.
5th finger.
Bring your awareness to the palm of the hand.
The center of the palm.

Now bring your awareness to your natural breath.
Observe its rhythm without altering it.
Be aware of your body breathing.
Begin to visualize your breath.
As it flows effortlessly.
Visualize your breath floating above you.
A warm glow.
And a colour so familiar and safe.
Lowing.
This safe cloud of mist.
The sound of your breath begins to hush.
As the sound of waves begin to fill your ears.
The smell of the sea fills your nose.
And the crispness of the sea air lightly touches your skin.
Beneath you,
You notice the wetness of the softness of rocks and moss.
As you slowly sit up and look around.
As far as you can see,
The vast ocean fills all the way to the horizon.
Behind you.
A path leading up to a very steep cliff face.
Where cut into the rock is a set of stairs climbing up towards the sky,
Disappearing into the clouds.
Your call to the stairs.
As you stand and wonder over us.
Whilst they are a little wet,
Your feet are secure in every step you take.
Standing at the first step,
You crane your neck to look up to see how far the stairs go,
Disappearing into the clouds.
As if a gust of wind billows in from the sea,
You almost feel yourself float up to take that first step.
The wind helping you and lifting you with ease and guidance as you begin to climb.
Step by step.
The sound of the ocean becomes softer and softer.
The rocks seem to get a little bit steeper,
But with every step your foot perfectly fits into place.
Soon.
It's silent.
And all you can hear is your breath.
And your heartbeat.
You notice you've been climbing for some time.
When you look up and notice the mist of the clouds start to cover a few feet in front of you.
The stairs get steeper as you lift each foot.
The silence of the altitude somehow seems to be getting louder as your heart beats a bit faster,
As the climb starts to increase in intensity.
Your feet are feeling heavier,
Your breath shallow,
As you continue to climb and climb.
You look down to see that you cannot see too far below.
And looking up.
The cloud also covers above you.
But something keeps motivating you and helping you move each foot onto the next step.
As they start to get heavier,
Feeling like lead as they're placed onto each step.
You're almost about to stop and take a rest as you don't think you can take any more until your foot lands on a platform.
In front of you,
A small stone path leading into a cave.
A very dark cave that for anyone else might seem unwelcoming.
But for you.
There is a sense of familiarity.
Comfort,
Warmth.
You walk towards the cave as you feel a gentle breeze warmly tugging at you as it welcomes you inside.
A soft,
Gentle voice calling your name from within as you move deep into the cave.
Being enveloped by the darkness.
For a moment,
It's completely dark as you don't know which way you are going until.
.
.
Far in the distance you see a small,
Warm,
Glowing light.
The same color.
Of your breath.
Earlier.
You make your way towards the light.
As you continue deeper and deeper into the cave.
The deeper you go.
The more clear and energized you become.
The more stronger and vibrant you feel.
As you approach the light,
You notice.
It is an orb of mist.
It greets you.
It's light kissing your arms and face.
And as if a knowing between you,
You breathe together.
Deep inhale.
.
.
And a slow exhale.
You find the clearest,
Deepest breath.
As the mist begins to return into your body.
It's glow filling up your throat and chest and belly.
Lighting up your arms and legs.
As you notice now that you are glowing.
The cave is alight as you notice how beautiful your surroundings are.
Then,
As you stand there in this moment of magnificence,
You hug yourself.
As the mist glows brighter.
It's here.
Your sankalpa echoes three times.
It's here.
You say your sankalpa in response three times.
Feel it resonate deeply within you.
Aligning with your body,
Mind and heart.
You feel the light warming.
And gently spreading throughout your body.
A sense of knowing and love fills your body and mind.
Bring your attention back to your body.
Notice the surface beneath you.
Maybe deepening the breath.
A little bit more.
Wiggling your fingers and toes.
Rocking your head from side to side.
And maybe staying where you are or rolling over onto your preferred side.
I'm taking a moment here.
To notice the calmness and presence you've cultivated.
Reflecting on where you began.
And where you are now.
And as you carry this with you.
Into the rest of your day.
With gratitude.
Slowly opening your eyes.
The practice of Yoga Nidra is now complete.
