Welcome.
Welcome home to yourself.
Welcome home to yourself and welcome to this practice of yoga nidra.
Welcome to this practice of yoga nidra with the intention to welcome and invite in a space for creativity.
As the body settles,
Allow yourself to be completely comfortable.
Making any adjustments to help you feel at ease,
Nourished and supported.
Any bodily sensation,
Any thought,
Any noise.
All of you is welcome here.
If you need to readjust for more comfort or take a yawn or a sneeze,
All of you is welcome here.
As we allow the body to rest.
Notice the breath.
Notice the breath going all the way down to the very end of the exhalation.
And all the way up to the height of inhalation.
Welcome the full cycle of every breath.
Right the way down to the depths of the exhalation after the breath has gone all the way out.
And then right the way up to the heights of inhalation when the breath has come all the way in.
Welcome each cycle of each breath as if each breath for breathing you as if the rhythm of the breath contained it is a whole cycle like each day.
The breath that's coming in like the dawn.
The dawning of the breath begins to come in at the dawn of the day.
All the way up to the height of the inhalation,
Like full noon,
Bright,
Full sunlight overhead.
And then all the way over and down as the breath begins to leave.
Moving into the afternoon and the evening,
The breath leaves and at the very end of the exhalation,
And the breath has all gone out.
It's like being in the nighttime of the breath.
A time of rest,
Waiting and quiet until the dawn of the new breath and the next inhalation begins to rise all the way over to the height of the inhale,
The noontime of the breath.
And down and over and through the afternoon and the evening of the breath.
Right down into the end of the exhalation.
The night time.
For there is nothing to be done but simply wait and rest until the next dawn of breath arises.
And so on with every cycle of breath,
Effortlessly noticing the cycle of the breath unfolding.
With that increasing spaciousness and ease of rhythm,
The body settles deeper into stillness.
And in the space of awareness that is yoga nidra.
Invite now further.
Attention to settle.
And travel down.
Bringing awareness behind the center of the chest.
Deep into the center of the chest,
Behind the ribs and sternum.
What would it be like to occupy the space inside of the heart?
What would it be like to simply be there in that space?
And at the end of the exhale,
To invite that space to be a place of welcome for whatever creative insight may be wanting to arise now or in the future.
Simply taking a moment of space and silence to welcome whatever creative insight may arise.
Allow yourself to rest in the awareness of this space of the heart.
And maybe it feels appropriate and comfortable for you to bring a little question.
A question about the next step in whatever creative project you may be involved with.
Whatever the next step may be.
Maybe bring a question there about that stuff.
Maybe not.
Know that it is simply enough to just rest in the awareness in the space of the heart.
And know that you are welcome here.
I know that all of your creativity and your creative potential is welcome here.
In the expansive and nurturing space of the heart.
I invite you to,
On your next inhale,
Invite in the experience of the whole body to be like the night sky.
Inviting nighttime of the breath at the end of the exhale.
And inviting for this experience of the whole body to be a beautiful dark night sky.
Perhaps as we travel,
You'd like to imagine the points of awareness like little orbs.
Killing the night sky.
Filling the inner liminal space of the body.
A quiet dark space full of glowing orbs.
Begin by inviting the awareness to travel to the crown of the head as if a little orb of light was shining there.
And then allow for the awareness to travel down between the space between the two eyebrows,
The third eye center,
The Ajna chakra.
A little orb of light.
And then down between the two collarbones,
In the space of the hollow,
In the base of the throat.
The hollow of the throat,
A little orb shining there.
And then orbs glimmering on the right arm,
Down from the right shoulder into the elbow,
The wrist,
Orbs touching the top of the right hand thumb,
Tip of the index finger,
Tip of the middle finger,
Tip of the ring finger,
Tip of the little finger,
An orb back in the space of the right wrist,
Elbow.
And shoulder.
Invite the awareness to settle back at the orb in between the collarbones at the hollow of the throat.
And then across and over an orb placed on the left shoulder,
Elbow,
And wrist.
And then orbs at the tip of the left hand thumb.
Tip of the index finger.
Tip of the middle finger.
Tip of the ring finger.
Tip of the little finger.
An orb in the space of the left wrist,
Elbow and shoulder.
Orb in the hollow of the base of the throat.
Orb between the collarbones.
An orb in the space behind the place,
The back of the breastbone.
And that's in an orb behind the left side of the chest.
Back of the chest.
Right side of the chest.
And an orb brilliantly shining in the space of the center of the chest,
The place of your heart,
Your inner teacher.
And all the way down an orb behind the navel.
An orb in the pelvis.
A place of the pubic bone and in the front of the pelvis.
Let there be an orb in the center of the pelvis.
And then over to the right hip,
Knee,
And ankle,
And five little orbs,
One on the tip of the right big toe,
Second toe.
Third toe.
Fourth toe,
And fifth toe.
Orbs inside of the right ankle,
Knee,
And hip.
Orb in the center of the pelvis and the left hip.
Knee and ankle and five little orbs at the tips of the toes,
The left big toe,
The second toe.
The third toe.
Fourth toe and the fifth orb inside the left ankle,
Knee,
And hip.
Back up to the orb in the pelvis,
The navel,
The center of the chest.
Or between the eyebrows up to the crown of the head.
In the space of awareness,
Which is yoga nidra.
Allow yourself to be aware of the whole body resting as orbs suspended in a sacred,
Nurturing,
Liminal space.
In this space of awareness.
I invite you to bring that attention to rest in the third eye center between the two eyebrows.
And bringing awareness deep into the heart center.
Welcome home to the core of the heart,
The core of your creativity and your intuition.
Allow yourself.
To resonate with the orb here in the core of the heart.
Perhaps after this journey of awareness around the body,
Your heart has a new message for you,
A new sensation,
Thought,
Idea,
Or feeling.
Nurturing the tiny aura within your heart space with your attention.
Welcome home to yourself.
Welcome home to your true nature within this space of unlimited creative potential.
Within this sacred space of yoga nidra.
Let the incoming breath bring in the quality of spaciousness in the body.
As if when the breath comes in on the inhale,
A little more space opens up in between each arm,
Each orb.
Maybe as the breath comes in,
The orbs move out across the liminal expanse.
And when the breath moves in,
The orbs contract a little.
Allow the orbs suspended in this liminal space to expand as you inhale,
Taking up space.
And contract and come closer to each other.
On the exhale.
Allow this to be gentle and soft.
Allow each orb to shine brightly.
Each breath in,
The orb spread out a little wider and a little higher.
And each breath out,
Each exhale.
All of the brightness of all of those orbs gently land in the earth of the body.
And be with these states of awareness for the next few rounds of breath.
Spaciousness on the inhale as the orbs spread out and welcome brightness into the liminal space of the body.
And on the exhale,
Welcoming the settling of the body and the orbs upon the earth,
Allowing the body and the orbs be fully held and supported.
As the breath comes in,
All the orbs spread out and expand and brighten.
And as the breath comes out,
The orbs land gently on the body and in the earth.
And then how would it be to invite in the possibility that both these forms of awareness could be present at the same time?
What would it be like to have the orbs brighten and expand,
Maximizing their full potential,
While also gently grounding and settling on the earth,
Allowing for support to be received?
What would it be like to welcome the spaciousness that comes with the inhale?
At the same time as we welcome the sense of grounding with the exhale.
What would it be like to feel the sense of spaciousness and expansiveness while feeling grounded,
Fully rooted and earthed at the same time?
And now I invite you to let go of that exploration and invite for all of the orbs to coalesce and come to the center of the heart space.
All the orbs combining into one orb at the core of the heart.
The intuitive creative center.
Your inner teacher.
Imagine as if when the breath goes out on the exhale,
All the light of all the orbs would shine brightly in the orb behind the center of the chest.
And when the breath comes in from that orb in the heart,
Allow for the orb to spread out wide.
Through the heart space,
Expanding through the ribs,
The front and back and sides of the chest.
Allowing that awareness of the heart to be with your inhale and your exhale.
A great expansiveness of the heart space on the inhale.
And a gathering of all of that light settling deep within the space of the heart.
Expansion of the orb in the heart on the inhale and grounding all of that potential within the heart on the exhale.
Allowing both expansion,
Potential and creativity.
And groundedness to coexist within the space of the heart at the same time.
How would it be to have that unlimited potential and expansiveness,
But yet be fully centered to a point of focus?
To have a centered point of single focus,
Yet be in the space of expansiveness and unlimited potential.
At the same time.
How would that be?
You Where would that be?
What might that be like?
What do you need to let it be?
Allowing yourself to let go of this exploration.
Coming back to the awareness in the space of the heart and simply be in that space.
Be in the center of your heart and feel that there is welcome for the awareness to come home.
And for whatever creative insight might be just right,
Just now,
Perhaps for that present for you to be an answer to the question that you may have brought at the beginning of the practice in this next step.
Maybe no answers come.
Simply to rest in the awareness of this heart space is more than enough.
Feeling into the welcome of the space of the heart.
Thanking your heart for any wisdom or creative insight that is shared with you.
Thanking and honoring your heart,
Your inner teacher,
As you begin to breathe a little deeper.
Inviting a deepening of the breath.
Maybe breathing a little louder and sensing now a warm welcome could be extended out as you breathe into all parts of your body.
Inviting awareness back into the five senses.
Maybe adding in a little movement or a little wiggle.
And carrying with you a feeling that you can carry this practice with you for the rest of your day.
Perhaps a feeling that you could carry a warm welcome for all that arises in the rest of your day and all that unfolds in the dreams of the night.
Allowing yourself to breathe a little freer and more easily.
A little louder.
Continuing to reawaken as you begin to come towards the end of this yoga nidra practice.
You're welcome to continue to rest here.
You're welcome to move and stretch,
Journal your creative insights,
Continue work on a creative project,
Taking whatever next steps are the most nourishing for you.
As you slowly invite yourself back to full wakeful awareness.
This practice of Yoga Nidra for creativity is now complete.
Thank you for joining me.
You're welcome.
Continue resting here as long as you like.
