If your mind is still running through the workday,
Replaying conversations,
Decisions,
Or moments in time,
You're in the right place and you're not alone.
Let's take a few minutes to create some space.
Take a breath.
Slow and smooth on the inhale.
Long and steady on the exhale.
Again.
Slow and smooth on the inhale.
Long and steady on the exhale.
If your mind is holding on to the day,
That's okay.
You don't have to force it away.
You don't have to pretend it's gone.
Because in reality,
Work doesn't always stay at work,
Does it?
Conversations linger.
Decisions replay.
And sometimes,
Certain moments play over and over and over again in your mind.
That's part of being responsible.
That's part of caring.
But carrying it and caring are two different things.
It's your choice not to let it stay inside of you.
So right now,
We're not trying to erase the day or the week.
We're simply creating space from it.
Bring your attention to your body.
Notice the places you feel stiff and tense.
Your shoulders.
Your jaw.
Your chest.
Your stomach.
No need to fix it.
Just notice.
Your muscles and your skin.
Now gently allow those areas to soften and relax.
Even just a little.
Now bring one moment of your work day to the TV screen in your mind.
Just one.
Something that stayed with you.
See it clearly.
And now,
Instead of stepping back into it,
Imagine placing it in front of you so it's no longer inside of you.
In front of you,
Like on a cutting board in the kitchen while fixing a meal.
As if you're observing it from a small distance.
Now that it's visually outside of you,
Notice how that feels.
A little less intense and more manageable.
Ask yourself quietly,
Is there anything I need to do about this right now?
Or is this something I can return to tomorrow?
If action can be taken later,
Then make a choice to trust,
Enjoy and accept that option.
If the image continues running circles in your mind,
Acknowledge it and gently say to yourself,
Not now.
Then push the cutting board further away from you along with the thoughts that are laying on it.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Slow inhale for two seconds.
Hold for two.
Then release.
Gently exhale for two seconds.
Hold for two.
And release.
As you continue breathing slow,
Let each exhale cut a little bit more of the challenging day away.
Maybe not all of it,
But just a little.
Carry this flow for the next 30 seconds.
This feeling of your breath at your own pace.
Again,
Shift your focus.
You are no longer in your workday.
You are here in this moment,
In your space,
In your life.
And remember,
Work is something you do.
It's not where you live.
This space,
Where you remember who you are,
This is where you live.
Now,
Imagine dumping the challenging parts of your day from the cutting board to the trash.
It's not gone.
It's just not inside you or being carried by you.
As we close,
Repeat this mantra in your mind.
I can care without carrying it.
I can care without carrying it.
Rest here as long as you'd like.
Until next time,
Namaste.
