Welcome back to the second part of the series,
From Time to Rhythm,
Remembering Life's Natural Flow.
In part 1.
We explored how modern life became increasingly organized around time.
Measured,
Scheduled,
And optimized.
Today,
I invite you into something deeper than time.
Not into another idea.
But into an experience.
So please take some slow breath.
And fully arrive here.
Gently place a hand on your heart.
And simply notice.
Your heart is beating.
Not because you asked it to.
Not because it is following a schedule.
Because it has its own wisdom.
Its own rhythm.
Now notice your breathing.
The gentle rising and falling.
No two breaths are exactly the same.
Yet,
Each one belongs perfectly to the next.
Before you woke up this morning.
Her heart was already beating.
Your breath was already flowing.
Life was already happening.
Rhythm does not begin with us.
We begin.
Within reason.
Imagine the first light of dawn.
The warmth of the afternoon.
The quiet arrival of the evening.
No one tells the sun when to rise.
No one reminds the moon to appear.
The seasons do not hurry.
The tide does not force itself to come in.
The birds do not question when it's time to migrate.
Life knows how to move.
And perhaps our deepest remembering is simply to listen.
It was a time when human life followed these rhythms more naturally.
The rhythms of waking and resting.
Planting and harvesting.
Of activity and stillness.
Of speaking and listening.
Life was not something to control.
It was something.
To participate in.
Perhaps this is what most of us have forgotten.
A clock measures quantity.
Rhythm reveals relationship.
One can be counted.
The other can only be felt.
Perhaps you have noticed moments.
When you were not listening to your own rhythm.
Eating even though your body was not asking for food.
Continuing to work Although every part of you longed for rest.
Moving quickly.
When something inside was asking you to slow down.
Not because anything is wrong.
Simply because this is how many of us have learned to live.
Nature offers us another way.
The oak tree does not apologize for winter.
The rose does not bloom throughout the entire year.
The ocean does not remain high tide.
Everything moves.
Between expansion and contraction.
Between activity and rest.
Between expression and silence.
This is rhythm.
Take a quiet moment.
It ups the roof.
Are you feeling exhausted?
Not because you have too little time.
But perhaps you have simply become separated from your own natural rhythm.
Feel into it.
Then,
Listen.
You might feel a softening.
Less pressure.
Less trying to make life happen.
Instead,
Simply notice.
That life is already happening.
Through every breath.
Through every heartbeat.
Through every season of our lives.
Simply notice rather than asking,
What more should I do?
Another question might appear.
What is life asking of me now?
Sometimes the answer is action.
Sometimes rest.
Sometimes courage.
Sometimes waiting.
Rhythm is not something we create.
It is something we remember.
And perhaps that is why rhythm brings us back to presence.
Rhythm can only be felt here.
Not yesterday.
Not tomorrow.
All in now.
As we come toward the end of this reflection.
Allow yourself one more quiet moment.
And notice your breathing again.
Notice your body.
Notice the simple aliveness that is already here.
Without effort.
Without driving.
Without needing to become someone else.
Life is moving through you.
The rhythm you seek.
Is not somewhere outside of you.
It is already here.
Listen.
You May you remember and trust the wisdom within.
May you discover that beneath the pressure of time,
There is a deeper current.
Gently carrying you home.
To who you truly are.
In our next session,
We will explore what becomes possible when we trust that deeper current.
Harmony.
The wisdom of being.
Until then,
May you feel the quiet rhythm of life.
Guiding you.
One breath,
One moment,
One step at a time.
Thank you for listening.
And I look forward to continuing this journey with you in the next session.
