Welcome,
And thank you for taking some time for yourself.
In this video,
We will be using somatic tapping to calm the brain through physical touch.
I'm Laura with Let Me Bloom,
And I'm happy to have you here.
From a comfortable seated position where you feel supported,
Allow your feet to just rest on the floor if that's available to you,
Or simply settle into a position that does feel safe and comfortable.
And we will just begin by shaking out our hands a little bit and start rubbing them together,
Rubbing the palms of your hands together.
Feel the friction between your hands.
And just notice the warmth beginning to build.
Continue rubbing your hands together.
And as you do this,
Take some gentle cleansing breaths.
While you're continuing to create that warmth in your palms.
Noticing the sensations in your fingertips.
And the texture of your skin.
Notice the rhythm of the movement.
Now gently place your warm palms over your closed eyes.
There's no pressure here,
Just simply allow the warmth of your hands to rest over your eyes.
And imagine giving the muscles around your eyes permission to soften.
Allowing your forehead to relax.
Relaxing the tiny muscles around your eyes.
And allowing your cheeks to soften.
Just noticing your breathing.
Taking a slow breath in.
And a gentle exhale.
Now slowly release your hands and begin gently tapping your temples.
Moving back and forth.
At whatever pace feels comfortable.
And as you continue tapping,
Notice the gentle rhythm beneath your fingertips.
Notice if your breathing has changed.
There's no right or wrong experience,
Just simply notice.
And start moving up into your forehead.
Tapping along your eyebrows.
Noticing the rhythm beneath your fingertips.
Does your forehead feel softer than it did a few moments ago?
Take a slow inhale.
And when you exhale,
Begin humming.
Allowing the vibration to travel through your face.
Into your forehead,
Your jaw,
And your throat.
Go ahead and do that one more time at your own pace.
Now move your fingertips to the base of your skull.
Where your head meets your neck.
And continue tapping gently.
Allowing your shoulders to become just a little heavier.
Imagine your neck lengthening.
And notice any sensations that arise.
No need to interpret them,
Just observe.
And take another slow inhale.
And a longer exhale.
Now move around the bony ridge surrounding your eyes.
Tapping beneath your eyebrows.
Maybe moving to the outside corners of your eyes.
And then beneath your eyes.
Continue moving around the orbital ridge.
Allowing your face to remain soft.
And relaxing your jaw again if it has tightened.
Noticing the rhythm and your breathing.
Now moving to the bridge of your nose.
Continue tapping gently.
Taking a slow breath in.
And once again humming.
Feeling the vibration moving through your face.
And do that one more time at your own pace.
Now moving just above your upper lip.
Continue that tapping slowly.
Noticing your breath.
Noticing the temperature of the air as you inhale.
And noticing the warmth as you exhale.
Now begin tapping along your jawline.
Moving from one side to the other.
Many of us carry stress here without even realizing it.
Rather than trying to make the tension disappear,
Simply acknowledge it.
Offering your body curiosity instead of judgment.
Continue tapping.
Now move your fingertips to the sides of your throat.
Using only a very gentle touch here.
Begin tapping down the sides of your neck towards your collarbones.
And continue tapping across those collarbones.
Taking a deep breath in.
And as you exhale,
Make a long,
Comfortable voo sound.
Boo.
Into your chest,
Your body.
And do that one more time at your own pace with a long VU.
And while you do this,
Moving to your ears.
Gently massaging them.
Massaging around the outer edges and lightly tugging your ear lobes.
Moving slowly.
And take one final deep cleansing breath.
And a slow exhale.
Notice your body.
And the weight of your body being supported.
Notice your breath and your heartbeat and sensations that feel new.
Thank you for joining me today.
The light in me cherishes the light in all of you.
