My name is Lauren Michelle.
Some of you may also know me as 88botanica.
Thank you for trusting me as your guide through today's meditation.
Superposition.
Finding peace and uncertainty.
I offer you sweet greetings and invite you to come and join me by the stream.
To get into a comfortable position and begin your meditative breathing.
A 10 second breath cycle.
Starting with a four count inhale,
Fully expanding and rising the chest.
A two second pause,
Just for the briefest moment.
And a four second exhale,
Fully releasing all the air we've taken in.
Our meditative breathing is slow and intentional.
And it keeps us rooted in the present moment.
Today is the 21st day of August in the year 2019.
And our meditation will focus on something that will help us fully embody our heart centered purpose.
The idea of surrender.
As the moon entered Taurus early this morning and continues to wane.
We'll spend this time together today looking inward.
Meeting the part of our shadow selves with the need to control things.
And learning to open ourselves to uncertainty.
Are you a control freak?
Do you have trust issues?
Do you feel anxiety or stress when things don't go according to your plans?
Breathe.
Control is an illusion.
Let's breathe together.
Taking a deep breath in.
Fully feeling the rising,
Nice mansion of our chest.
And next from the pause,
Just sitting in stillness for this moment.
Slowly with a full exhale,
A release of all that we've taken in.
All that we're not meant to carry.
As you exhale,
Visualize the anxiety,
The stress,
Or even the desire to control floating away from you.
As you release your breath.
Control is an illusion.
We often contribute to our own stress and anxiety by putting unnecessary pressures on ourselves.
Are you trying to cross your bridges before you even get to them?
The desire to control is rooted in fear of uncertainty.
Trust your intuition.
Realize that you'll make the best decisions no matter the circumstance.
Release worrying about things you can't control.
Break the pattern.
There is very little in this realm that we control directly.
Our true power lies in affecting things through our impact.
Two things that we do directly have control over are our perceptions or thoughts and our behaviors or actions.
Issues with control tend to arise when we view situations in terms of extremes.
To put this into a physics context,
By elevating our thinking and perceptions from one-dimensional to three-dimensional and beyond,
We can alleviate our reliance on control and the stress and anxiety associated with it.
Think about it like this.
Anything that is one-dimensional can be represented by a point,
A single instance or moment in time and space.
Two-dimensional can be represented by a line.
And three-dimensional can be represented as a spiral or a sphere.
So 1D reflects a problem.
2D reflects a defined spectrum of potential.
This is where we reside when we focus on controlling outcomes.
3D and beyond reflects an infinite number of possibilities.
This is where we aspire to get to,
Where we release our attachment to the need to control outcome.
We use the example of Schrodinger's cat to illustrate this concept,
The idea of superposition.
When the cat is in the box,
We can consider it neither alive nor dead because it isn't until we make the choice to open the box that it takes on a recognizable state of being.
For us,
There is no way of knowing for sure until the box is actually open.
Apply this way of thinking,
Of perception to yourself.
There is no way of knowing the exact circumstances or situation until it happens.
In the meantime,
Worrying about possibilities isn't helpful.
I've always said that when you are offered a choice between two things,
There are at least five possible outcomes.
For example,
If you're offered an apple or an orange,
You could select the apple,
You could select the orange.
You could also select both or neither,
Or you could request something else entirely.
Allow yourself to be open to the possibilities,
To the uncertainty.
Free yourself from the attachment to the need to control.
Practice that pattern,
Remove that thought programming and lift the veil.
Through mindfulness,
We practice letting go.
We co-create our reality with the universe.
Make space for yourself to just be.
Exist in the moment exactly as it is.
Release getting emotionally invested in creating extremely controlled scenarios.
Nothing in this realm happens in a vacuum.
It's okay to think about what you'd like to have happen,
To trust that you'll make decisions that align with that,
But to remain open to knowing that so much more is possible than you're aware of,
And you may be pleasantly surprised.
We cannot control every aspect of everything.
We cannot control others.
We don't even have full control over ourselves.
Why would we want to?
Why do we feel that we need to?
We take our lesson tonight from the moon in Taurus.
We're being called to get out of our own heads and be in our bodies.
Taurus is an earth sign and it's slow moving.
Its lunar energy guides us to lavish ourselves in the experience of earthly life.
Savor,
Live in the moment.
Surrender to uncertainty and embrace a level of earthly hedonism,
Of truly embodying and enjoying every moment.
Lift the veil.
Find peace in the superposition.
I thank you for joining me for our meditation today,
For meeting me here by the stream to sit,
To share ideas,
And to focus even just for a moment.
I hope that you're feeling more grounded,
More centered,
And more aware of the present moment,
And that you'll carry this inner peace forward into your day.
I'll meet you back here by the stream for our next meditation.
As always,
I'm sending you lots of love,
Light,
And positive intention.
Peace.
