I come to you guided by my intuition and by the wisdom blessed upon me by my teachers,
Matt and Ashley Schaefer and Louisa Dorian,

And my Reiki master,
Kelly Strolls.
I humbly welcome you to today's meditation.
As we begin,
I want you to check in with your body and get as comfortable as possible,
Wherever you are.
Whether you are sitting,
Standing,
Lying down,
Or even driving in a car,
There is a place for you here.
Let's take a moment to move through the body together.
Starting with your face,
Notice what's there.
Any tension in your jaw,
Your forehead,
Around your eyes,
Just allow whatever needs to adjust to adjust.
Move your awareness down to your neck,
Your shoulders,
Let them drop,
Your arms,
Your hands,
Your chest,
Your back,
Your stomach,
Your hips,
Your legs,
Your feet,
All the way down to your toes.
As you settle in,
Feel the groundness of gravity beneath you,
Not as pressure as support,
The earth holding you exactly where you are.
Now we are going to start by breathing together.
We will take three intentional breaths,
In for four counts,
Hold for seven,
And out for eight.
If you are operating any machinery,
Simply allow your breath to breathe naturally and let the words wash over you.
For everyone else,
Let's begin.
Breathe in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Out,
Two,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
One more time,
Breathe in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven,
Out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Now allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
One deep breath in,
And out.
And if you're not operating any machinery and you feel so inclined,
You are welcome to gently close your eyes.
If you are operating machinery or simply prefer to keep your eyes open,
That is perfectly okay too.
You are still fully here.
One more breath in,
And out.
You are here,
You are held,
You are exactly where you are supposed to be,
Right now.
Take one more slow breath in,
And as you exhale,
I want to ask you a question I've started asking the people in my life.
Not how are you doing,
But how are you being?
Notice how different that feels.
How you are doing pulls your attention outward to your checklist,
Your to-dos,
Your accomplishments,
Your progress.
How are you being pulls your attention inward to your energy,
Your presence,
Your essence,
To who you exactly are right now,
Underneath everything you're doing.
We are called human beings,
Not human doings.
Think about that for a moment.
We are literally named after the state of being.
It is the second half of what we are,
Human being.
And yet,
Somewhere along the way,
Most of us forgot how to be.
Most of us just even forgot to be.
We got so busy doing,
We got so busy having,
That we lost touch with our being entirely.
Your being is not something you have to create,
Or earn,
Or work toward.
It already exists.
It is the part of you that was here before the to-do lists,
And the schedules,
And the roles,
And the responsibilities.
It is your inner being,
Your physical being,
Your universal being,
That part of you that is connected to something so much larger than this one human life.
It is all of those things at once,
And it is available to you right now.
So I want to invite you,
In this moment,
To stop doing for just a little while.
You don't have to do anything to be.
You don't have to accomplish anything to be worthy of your own presence.
You don't have to check anything off to deserve this moment of stillness.
You can simply be.
I want you to ask yourself,
Gently,
Without judgment,
How am I being right now?
Not what you are doing,
Not what do you have,
Not what you are working toward,
How are you being?
Maybe you're being tired.
Maybe you are being hopeful.
Maybe you are being a little lost,
A little brave,
Or somewhere beautifully in-between.
Whatever is true,
Let it be true,
Let it be seen.
And now,
One more question,
How do you want to be?
What energy do you want to carry into this day,
Into this moment,
Into this breath?
You can be joyful,
You can be grateful,
You can be grounded,
Peaceful,
Open,
Courageous.
You don't have to do anything to access those states.
You just have to choose them.
You just have to be willing to inhabit them,
Right now,
As you are,
Exactly where you are.
Because the energy you bring to each moment,
That is your being.
That is your contribution to every room you enter,
Every relationship you touch,
Every moment you are alive for.
And you get to choose it.
Not because everything is perfect,
Not because life is easy,
But because you are a being,
A human being.
And that means the state of your being is always,
Always in your hands.
So carry this question with you today.
Let it replace the old one.
Instead of asking how are you doing,
Instead,
Ask how are you being?
Begin to bring awareness back to your body.
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes,
Take a slow,
Easy breath.
Before you open your eyes,
Take just a moment to be grateful.
Grateful that you showed up for yourself today.
Grateful for this time you carved out.
Grateful for who you are becoming.
That is no small thing.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes and carry this with you.
Not just into your day,
But into your being.
Let it live there.
Let it settle.
Let it become part of who you are.
You did the work today.
Now,
Go be it.
