For this exercise,
Sit in a comfortable chair.
Keep an active posture and ensure you won't be disturbed.
This moment is for you and you alone.
Place both feet flat on the ground and straighten your back.
Imagine your spine stacked like building blocks,
With your head balanced steadily on top.
Rest your hands on your legs or lap,
Palms facing upward in a receptive position.
Whatever feels most comfortable.
During this exercise,
You'll repeat several positive affirmations.
If you're in a shared space or feel uncomfortable speaking aloud,
You can repeat them in your head,
Though speaking them is more effective.
I invite you to close your eyes now.
Let's begin with three deep breaths together,
In through the nose and out through the mouth.
Each exhale with a sound.
We'll start in 3,
2,
1.
Deep breath in.
Now return to your natural breathing rhythm.
Imagine a place where you feel safe.
Perhaps a house,
The beach or even your car.
Let this place form in your mind.
Notice what you feel.
Immerse yourself in this space and know that you are safe.
Feel your safety and say aloud,
I am safe.
If this feels awkward,
Which is perfectly normal,
Remember you're not with time.
Just repeat after me.
I deserve to be happy.
I choose to be happy.
I have all the resources within myself that I need.
I start with myself.
I forgive myself.
I am free to be myself.
I deserve the very best.
