I'd like you to find yourself in a comfortable position and when it's right for you just allow yourself to take a few breaths and allow these to be soothing and just as deep as they need to be for you and when you're ready you can begin to relax and I'd invite you to continue relaxing as you listen to my voice In this guided meditation I'll be talking about thoughts and how easy it can be to free yourself from them and begin to feel more comfortable,
More at ease and at peace with yourself,
With a clear mind Thoughts,
They come and go and it's so easy to get tangled up in them so easy to fall for the enticing way they beckon you tumbling in and out of your awareness like mischievous children vying for your attention,
Your affection and your peace They mean no harm and by themselves can cause no harm Let them play,
Just watch as you'd watch any child at play going this way and that Notice how those thoughts and the images they create on the screen of your imagination can trigger those feelings sometimes over and over again relentlessly When we become identified with our thoughts it can seem impossible to escape from them They can feel so compelling It can be easy to mistake those thoughts as part of who we think we are We have a choice,
We always have a choice even if it doesn't seem or feel that way The interesting thing is our brains can't tell the difference between what we imagine and what we see This is why our thoughts can be so powerful They can fuel creativity and distraction alike It's our choice When we're looking out of our eyes we assume that we're seeing what is out there When all we're seeing is an internal representation of what we think is out there There is no out there It's all inside and never anywhere else This is why physicists tell us that reality is an illusion Our reality is created by thought Who is watching those thoughts?
If you are aware of those thoughts you can't be those thoughts So who is the watcher?
Can you become more aware that there is a watcher or witnessing presence?
I wonder if you can become more aware of those thoughts as the witnessing presence now Without effort,
Without trying to make it happen What do you notice about that now?
The more you watch your thoughts the more you can realise that you don't have to indulge them And the more you watch as the witnessing presence you can notice that you can feel more relaxed and more peaceful in the moment It can feel like those thoughts are not there at all In this more peaceful state of quietness you create space Space where new thought can arise Thoughts you've never had before This is insightful thinking Those aha moments we've all had at some point Like when you suddenly remember something you couldn't recall earlier Or when you have a fantastic idea that has arisen from seemingly nowhere Imagine what it might be like to have more of those insights I wonder how different your reality can be as you make new discoveries Be gentle with it and allow And now I'd like you to do what is exactly right for you Whether that is beginning to move or whether that is staying still where you are Please do what is right for you Thank you for being here Take care and best wishes to you
